Oprah: "I Was Hoping To Run Into Hillary At The Gym"

This morning on "Good Morning America," Diane Sawyer was interviewing Denzel Washington and Oprah Winfrey about their upcoming movie, "The Great Debaters" (Denzel directed and stars in the Oprah-produced flick).

Coincidentally, the "fancy Beverly Hills hotel" where they were promoting "The Great Debaters" was also playing host to Hillary Clinton, which allowed Diane to ask Oprah questions about her support of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and, more specifically, about her feelings towards his main rival.

For instance, what would Oprah say to Hillary if they ran into one another?
Oprah: "I was hoping to run into her at the gym this morning, and I'd say, 'Hi, how's things going?'
Oprah explained that her support in favor of Obama is not a vote against Clinton or any other candidate, but rather just that: support for Obama. But what if Obama is not the nominee, will Oprah support Hillary in the general election?
Oprah: "Obviously, I'm in this race because I'm believing that the person that I'm speaking up for is gonna take it all the way. And the if that doesn't happen, I might readjust my thinkin'."
Perhaps Oprah will readjust her thinkin' back to what it was in November 2005, when she told Hillary, "I hope you do us a privilege and run for office. ... [For] President of the United States."

Watch all of Oprah's thoughts:
Diane Sawyer interviewed Obama supporter Oprah on GMA this morning, and asked her about Hillary Clinton (staying in the same hotel as Oprah in LA). Oprah said she wants to run into her in the gym and that her position is pro-Obama, not anti-Clinton. http://link.brightcove.com/services/link/bcpid1336737924http://www.brightcove.com/channel.jsp?channel=1178199204

From ABC, 12/12

Oprah also told Diane that she would not appear in political ads for Obama, explaining, "That's not the best use of my time."

Who here believes that Oprah goes to a public gym?

Oprah is such a coward. She will support HER candidate, but she doesn't have the guts to admit she is a Democrat, and thus agree to support whoever the Democratic nominee is. This interview proves that Oprah is in this for herself, and if HER guy can't win....she will go back to La or Chicago and hide...what a joke.

The "gym" being a euphemism for McDonalds.

"My milkshake clears all the boys from the yard..."

One question I have to ask of all the Hillary people that they continually thump at all the other supporters of other nominees, and that is..."Will you come out and support one of the other nominees if THEY get nominated?" Since you all seem very concerned about that, I've never really seen too many folks ask you all that particular question in response, and heard any of you answer it.

Run into Hillary? Hmmm... I bet she has progressive insurance.

Lot of hatred against Oprah here...well must be the small minded and pathetic posting fat jokes here...instead of being concerned about how they are contributing.

Oprah, do you go to the gym before or after your visit to Krispy Kreme?

To Bulbul: I ask the same ?

0prah went out of her way to get Arnold S
elected, after he threw out all hope
progressive programs for the poor by re-calling
Democrat Governor.
0prah now says she feels the need to bring
change to America. 0prah you need to apologize
for you support of the REPUBLIC PARTY'S racist
policies too!
It is just not true that is the first time you
have supported a politician. You know that
Obama cannot win this election.
My question is: Another 8 years of Rebubs?
There will be only the SUPERIOR RICH
(like 0prah) and the POOR. No MIDDLE CLASS
at all.

This is called spinning. Oprah endorsing Obama, big deal, and now she is trying to explain, why ?
Oprah claimes she is above all the nasty politics, and look this is exactly the politicians do, try to please everyone ! She is trying to explain her reasons to Hillary.

Why does Oprah always dumb-down her responses to critical questions? She falls into an old time southern-negro pattern of speech, as if she were talking to a reporter in the year 1947 instead of 2007. I'm surprised she didn't use the words 'reckon' or 'sho-nuff' - Seriously....She thinks she's being funny on the talk show when she does it with audience members or in making cute comments about her take on things, and it can be charming. With something as critical as an election, I would think she would be showing off her critical thinking and deductive reasoning skills. What's up with that Oprah?

Pleeaaaaaaaaessssssssse!
Oprah deserves a break in the gym.
But lest we forget, the gym cannot solve her over-weight burden, because Oprah's Thyroid Problem makes her over-weight.
Anyway, Oprah can always escape to Africa, where fat women are adored.

After the primaries, Oprah Winfrey will hit the road for the winner, Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Sorry, Oprah, Hillary doesn't base her self esteem on her jean size. Too bad you do. Should have kept Gary Zukov instead of Dr. Phil.

Hillary is looking pretty fat to me these days. Do you think America is ready to vote for a fat person as president in this day and age?

It's obvious those of you who chose to make fun of Oprah's weight have never had a weight problem. From what Oprah looked like 20 years ago, she looks fabulous. I have had a weight problem all my life, and it is like alcoholism or drug addiction. It is a battle that will never win. So Oprah may have gained a few pounds, but it is a life long struggle. Your comments about her weight, shows you are both ignorant and shallow. GROW UP!

I used to think that Obama would be a good choice but he looks like such a pussywhip when he's on stage with his wife and Oprah. A "yes-dear" caught in the headlights. And frankly, who the hell is Oprah anyway? Why is she the voice of reason? She's a talk show host that tapped into the mother lode in Yentaville and that's it. Since I'm not in the habit of taking fitness and relationship advice from flabby closet shrub scouts I don't think I'll defer to her for my political needs either.

I as in indendent democrat, in Illinois will be happy to vote for any one of the many democratic candidates over any of the republican candidates. Doesn't much matter to me which dem wins the nomination, she or he will be better then whoever wins the republican nomination.

'Perhaps Oprah will readjust her thinkin' back to what it was in November 2005, when she told Hillary, "I hope you do us a privilege and run for office. ... [For] President of the United States." '

And then came Barack!

Obama '08

The cult of personality strikes again and again and again.
How can anyone not be disturbed by the celebrity endorsements which equal what exactly?
Does having a TV show or making some movies somehow mean these folks are imbued with a greater, smarter, "I'm on the inside and you're not" vision for America?
It's sad that so many put so much store in what these folks are saying.
The link to Oprah's "support" for the war just proved the point that she too can most definately operate from the bully pulpit she's built for herself when she thinks she is right (or has a superior vision to the rest of us lowly thinkers). Nothing against Oprah personally - my thoughts are reflective more of a despair that more and more people know less and less and thereby frame their opinions on the blatherings found in the media.

THIS GUY NEVER TAKES RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANYTHING...MOVE ON! VOTE FOR ANYONE ELSE!

"Barack Obama continues his hard-edged, negative campaign - against his own staff. Passing blame down to anonymous staff ranks has become something of a tic for Obama. Obama pointed the finger at unidentified campaign schedulers when he had to address a New Hampshire firefighters union by telephone, instead of meeting with them in person. Obama told the gathering. "My staff had scheduled things and "they" couldn't wiggle out if it. And after media attention turned to the "Hillary Clinton Obama's campaign was producing bogus research memos/statements about Clinton's such as lies about having ties to the Indian-American community, Obama called the "unnecessarily caustic" document a "dumb mistake on our campaign's part" HE STARTED THE LIES AND NEGATIVE POLITICS¦A former cocaine junkie and muslim. WE DO NOT WANT THIS GUY LEADING OUR GREAT COUNTRY; MAYBE LEAD HARPO PRODUCTIONS, SINCE HES OPRAHS DREAM¦

Dear Mr. Shea,

Why do you write Ms. Winfrey's "quote" in dialect?

"I might readjust my thinkin'."

It appears to me as a subtle slam against Oprah.

I doubt Hillary has ever waddled in to gym ever in her life.
