Oprah: "I Was Hoping To Run Into Hillary At The Gym"

This morning on "Good Morning America," Diane Sawyer was interviewing Denzel Washington and Oprah Winfrey about their upcoming movie, "The Great Debaters" (Denzel directed and stars in the Oprah-produced flick).

Coincidentally, the "fancy Beverly Hills hotel" where they were promoting "The Great Debaters" was also playing host to Hillary Clinton, which allowed Diane to ask Oprah questions about her support of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and, more specifically, about her feelings towards his main rival.

For instance, what would Oprah say to Hillary if they ran into one another?

Oprah: "I was hoping to run into her at the gym this morning, and I'd say, 'Hi, how's things going?'

Oprah explained that her support in favor of Obama is not a vote against Clinton or any other candidate, but rather just that: support for Obama. But what if Obama is not the nominee, will Oprah support Hillary in the general election?

Oprah: "Obviously, I'm in this race because I'm believing that the person that I'm speaking up for is gonna take it all the way. And the if that doesn't happen, I might readjust my thinkin'."

Perhaps Oprah will readjust her thinkin' back to what it was in November 2005, when she told Hillary, "I hope you do us a privilege and run for office. ... [For] President of the United States."

I am tired of people claiming that Oprah's endorsement of Obama is racist. First, because we should be able to express disagreement with someone (who is not hurting people, unlike Bush) without attacking her character. But more importantly, because it's ignorant!

Oprah did not endorse Jesse Jackson in '88. He is black.

Oprah did not endorse Al Sharpton in '04. He is black, too.

Oprah did not endorse Carol Moseley Braun in '04. She is black as well.

Therefore, the people claiming Oprah is racist are the real racists -- linking her endorsement to his race alone. This is particularly annoying when done by so-called progressives -- like "prochange" above.

To prochange, it's interesting that Carol was black, female, AND from Illinois, and Oprah did not support her openly. If you don't like Oprah's endorsement, fine. But, at least don't make arguments that serve only to make you look stupid.

Oprah used to be pro-Hillary, now she is pro-Obama. Both are from Illinois, obviously the fact that Obama is half-white is more important than backing a woman. It is all about race with her.

Anybody relying on her judgment should take a look at all the unsuccessful diets she pushed on her TV shows over the years, only to regain the weight over and over again.
All she was proving to her adoring fans was that no matter how wealthy you are, you cannot loose weight. No diet plan, no exercise, no psychogolist, no psychiatrist, no spiritual adviser, no trainer, no cook, no diet pills you are able to buy or hire can help you. You are doomed to stay fat.

Oprah is smart. MS Sawyer tried to play a stupid game on her, forgetting that Oprah was a journalist before she became a celebrity. Oprah has brains, she is not dumb. She supports Obama and she recognizes a seminal moment in America's HISTORY. What don't you get? back off.
