People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals said it had documented cruelty to pigs at a supplier for U.S. meat company Smithfield Foods Inc.

After an undercover investigation, PETA said late on Tuesday that it had discovered workers at Murphy Family Ventures of Wallace, North Carolina, might have violated state laws against cruelty to animals.

The group said it had videotaped evidence of workers who hit and jabbed pigs in the face with metal gate rods, dragged injured animals, and denied them treatment for injuries.

A slice of country ham on white bread with a little mustard sounds good about right now.

PETA is crazy, but cruelty to animals is just malicious. Anyone who does that to an animal should be forced to march through the savannah smeared with mayo.

I have plenty of friends who have run up $10,000 vet bills for their beloved furry creatures.

I spent 2 years skimping to pay back a similar hospital bill.

Resentful? You bet.
