Romney Huckabee Fight
Republican Mitt Romney retorted to questions about his faith by surging rival Mike Huckabee on Wednesday, declaring that "attacking someone's religion is really going too far."

In an article to be published Sunday in The New York Times, Huckabee, an ordained Southern Baptist minister, asks, "Don't Mormons believe that Jesus and the devil are brothers?"

Read more about Romney's retort here.

TO: Ex-gov Mitt Romney and Ex-gov Michael Huckabee December 12, 2007

THE GOOD MAN

This hermit does not pay for what he gets because all the comforts he enjoys in civilization he enjoys by others' efforts. He does little good. He is a distastefully self-centered man. Therefore I neither approve of him nor respect him." From English Grammar and Composition by John Warriner Francis Griffith.

Our First Amendment Rights state,"No one religion shall be established nor any Law made to interefere with worshiping God." In fact, no one Religions is better than another and we shouldn't argue over this.

Let me add here Ex-gov Michael Huckabee that trying to buy the people with money with your cold, cold Income tax idea and which sales tax would lessen monies submitted by people would take away needed job and needs programs and take away all kinds of safety programs. We need a government to do the things we cannot do. This is efficiency. The more cities grow the more we need a bigger government.

I'm appalled by Ron Paul,Presidential candidate too, and you Ex-gov Huckabee for,"It is by its ability to give a decent life for the masses for average people and for those below average (not everyone can be a hero) that a society is to be judged." Faith Without Works is Dead so says the Bible. The Right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness is everyone's God'given Rights. Fairness and consistent fairness applied equally brings out Peace, not Wars. Eva Hart Christian Army 62-70 670 Eddy St. Sfc 94109

These religious fucks impose religion on the public debate, then whine when their religions become the topic of discussion. You can't have it both ways, boys. Either your religion is the basis for everything you do, and therefore, open to scrutiny, or it's a private matter that you and everyone else should shut up about.

Yea, and all Moslems worship the Sun God Rah.
You know, I'm not big Romney fan, but Jesus.
When will the Republican party stop pandering to the ignorant theocons and rediscover their intelligent conservative base. You know, small government, personal freedoms, staying away from nation building ... yeah, THOSE conservatives.

This was the last Republican debate before the Iowa caucus.

So, tell us Iowa Republicans, which one of these creeps you would nominate to be the loser in the general election?

My guess is that many more have been killed in the name of Jesus than in the name of Satan, Mohammad, Klaatu, Veeger, and Joe Boxer combined.

Makes you wonder which entity is really the evil one, doesn't it?

I'm sure most of the politicians and the voters would prefer not to have religion discussed or for religion to be a part of our election process. But it's way too late. The genie was let out of the bottle during the Reagan years when he began sucking up to the bigots and racists in the Bible Belt South.

From then on, voters have been pelted with slogans from the Religious Right like "moral majority," "values voters" and of course, G. W. Bush and his "Jesus is my favorite philosopher."

G. W. Bush among all the Republicans exploited and abused religion to the hilt more than any other candidate. But most voters are sick of Bush and the Republican Party's pandering to the religious sentiments of voters, especially now that we have seen 6 years of the worst policies of G. W. Bush who has made a mockery out of St. Matthews' Sermon on the Mount.

Romney in his "Faith in America" speech even went so far as to outrage the orthodox Mormons when he stated that the Bible is the revealed word of God, a belief that they do not profess because they believe the Bible is contrary to the revelations of Joseph Smith, the Mormon founder who supposedly used special (magical?) glasses to interpret the golden tablets of the angel Moroni included in the Book of Mormon with the aid of the Urim and Thummim.

A better representative of the Latter Day Republicans is the womanizing, seedy, conniving and mendacious Rudy Giuliani who spouts probably the only legitimate reasons for those who need an excuse to vote for him rather than Romney or Huckabee: Giuliani loves war and the use of military force and torture to deal with world problems -- just like Bush.

Giuliani has indicated that he'd bomb Iran in a heartbeat, would gladly torture anyone and will ignore international laws as well as laws in the U.S. Constitution. He’s their boy.

I hooked myself up to one of those nifty machines to register my reaction to what was being said on the debate. I flat lined 30 seconds into it.
