Bill O'Reilly's Struggles With The Interwebs

Happy Christmas, everyone! War is over! No, not that war. The 'War' On Christmas! So sayeth the Clown Admiral of the 'War' On Christmas, Bill O'Reilly, after the weird voice in his head that kept telling him that such a war existed apparently lapsed into silence.

And yet, the secularists rejoice, because none of this means that O'Reilly's status as a buffoon par-excellence will be in any way diminished. Case in point: O'Reilly's ongoing exertions to understand the internet and its dangers - a key component of his overall weltanschauung. In one of his extended conversations on the subject with Mary Katherine Ham, O'Reilly demonstrates that his knowledge of the subject hasn't advanced much beyond ancient Sandra Bullock thrillers.

What was your favorite part? Bill's portentious bleat, "Evil now has a conduit it has never had in the history of civilization." The part where Mary Katherine has to provide an explanation for how online porn is procured? Fox getting porny, as per usual?

Really, our favorite? Bill's credit card paranoia: "Ahhhh, you put your credit card online like that, you're insane! Because every idiot in the world's gonna get it!"

Naturally, one of those "idiots" is Bill O'Reilly, whose own website boasts a newly opened Christmas Store, which invites online credit card purchases. Oh, holy night!

Think we all need to get our priorities straight! Christmas is not all about shopping and all! It's about remebering the work of Jesus.

Notice he NEVER mentions the right wingers that have attacked Hillary online, for instance, with incredibly vulgar pictures and comments because she is a woman running for president. He only shows PETA, who the right wingers are against, and only has a actually very mild criticism of the Olson twins compared to what the right wingers do.

Not that extremists are good. On both sides they meet in the violence area, but the right wingers get there far quicker.

She was very patient with him, and looked as though she were about to laugh out loud right in his face several times at his scare-mongering over the internet.

Why don't the Christians take back Christmas from the advertisers and retailers?
There is no dignity or spiritualism when Christmas continues to be co-opted by Target and Walmart.
Does the holiday celebrate the birth of Christ or the birth of Santa Claus?

TASTELESS AMERICANS will watch O-REILLY religiously and for CRYN OUT LOUD he's just a PERSONAL OPINIONATED COMMENTATOR !!! NOT GOD.
Bad teeth--jowls that hang from shouting so much and so loud people forget what the subject was about and he WINS---and they are once again silent before they even started. Even selling T-SHIRTS because he's so greedy for the dollar doesn't turn anyone of his fans off.
America has been dumbed down by people like this and will continue to be. If they weren't stupid before they started to listen to him they sure were after a continuous brainwashing.

So, we all agree that O'Reilley is the biggest pinhead of all (well, Rush is still tops in my book!); that said, is there anything in THIS broadcast that's so out of line? Yes, any CHP officer who negligently leaked those photos deserves punishment and retraining in computer security/ emotional sensitivity. Yes, the sick zipperheads who would infringe on the family's privacy and exploit their pain deserve our scorn, and maybe in the future prosecution. Yes, the internet DOES provide "evil" a conduit it has never enjoyed before (please, no philosophical debates on the existence of evil; you know what I mean either way); can anyone dispute that, given the horror-show decapitations on Al Jazeera, the recent bullying-to-the-point-of-suicide case or the very existence of internet child pornography networks? And finally, yes, there are people out there who unwittingly lose their identities and their good credit ratings due to scammers on the net. Hey, the free world is a dangerous place! I'm just glad it's still free, even to post a demi-defense of that pinhead O'Reilley.

Given PNAC's perspective on the Internet (see page 57 of their position paper "Rebuilding America's Defenses", Sept 2000), I'm surprised that the Bill-o hasn't come out screaming that the government should take total control of the Internet using the Chinese model.

(P.S. Wish people would include transcripts of things O'Reilly when they talk about him; I can no more listen or watch O'Reilly talk than I can Bush or Cheney. My stomach clenches when I hear their voices or see their lips move.)

Huh.... being "#1" doesn't make him right, you know. It just means that lots of people watch him. Not everyone who suffers through "The Factor" really believes BillO's crap.

For the benefit of the posters responding to this article about Shill O'Reilly, here is a link to the civil complaint filed against him by his female producer. O'Reilly paid millions to settle the case.

The paragraphs in the Complaint detail his behavior. From all indications, the pathetic Dupes in plentiful supply around Huff Post still adore him.

O'Reilly attacks the internet because he recognizes as do all the right wingers that it is a powerful avenue for real truth to get to Progressives and for us to stay incommunication with each other. When the establishment types first created the web they never meant to let everyone use it for that purpose or maybe they just didn't anticipate that we would. Now they recognize it as a danger. Since they now are in the process of controlling all other means of communication this the web is all that remains. That is why they tried to destroy net neutrality or use other methods to still our voices. Taxing the use of the net in some form or another was meant to limit our use of it. Since they weren't able to do that they have to find a way to demonize it. And so we have the likes of O"Reilly with his crap about the net and it's dangers and villainy. If they can't shut it down or hinder it's use one way they will find another.

eating unhealthy food, smoking, these were no.1 for a long time. some half-wits seem to think if it's no.1 it must be good and it must be right. i don't care if o'reilly is right or wrong, i don't need some scold talking to me like i'm a dim-witted four year old. i'd sooner be in the minority and know i'm right than be in the majority hollering down all who think differently.

If the O'Reilly watchers I know are any indication, then most of them know even less about how to use the Google Machine to surf the pipes than he does. My mother-in-law seemed to think that the internet existed primarily for the forwarding of false email rumors about Democrats.
