Bush Torture Veto

AP:

The House on Thursday approved an intelligence bill that bans the CIA from using waterboarding, mock executions and other harsh interrogation methods.

The 222-199 vote sent the measure to the Senate, which still must act before it can go to President Bush. The White House has threatened a veto.

Bush has in just 7 years, ruined our economy, dollar is at all time low compared too other currencies, american honor in world is disgraced, we are now laughed at as hypocrites when we talk of human rights violations of others, we are seen as do as we say not as we do, we do not torture according too Bush, but if he vetos a bill which prohibits torture then it plainly says he is a liar at worst and a hypocrite at best, it is truly sad that he is worshipped by his republican party die hards, as a mesiah, but then the party of the rich, elite, do fit the bibles Pharisee's whom in that day ruled for self enrichment, proclaimed what was moral and immoral, but we all know who came too earth and exposed them, as frauds, fakes and hypocrites...., not surpising that a party which gives to the richest 2%, and denigrates the poor as shiftless, lazy, one the dole welfare scum, would be led by a torturer, mass murderer, funny how the republican party fits more with the world war II nazi's than any righteous demcoratic principled party...., nazi's too believed in torture and mass murder, felt the end justified the means...,

After seven years of comparing Bush to Hitler and claiming he is intent on wiping his ass with the constitution and destroying America, are you finally starting to realize that Bush will not be swayed by your opinions?

Bush is leaving in a year. He is not threatening a veto for his own sake. He is keeping options open for future presidents, Democrat or Republican, and he is right to do so.

While he is exercising the veto, the Democrats should be preparing an Impeachment Proceding.

that's cause Bush is a psychopath and gets off on it,I'm sure he has seen the videos they have of them torturing and no doubt in my mind he really gets turned on watching it,classic psychopath personality, when someone as a kid tortures animals as been reported he did ,and has no empathy for what pain their doing to a animal as a child ,when they grow up it's a short trip for them to become murderers and do torture to humans, scary part is this person is in the highest office in America

There is no doubt legally or in the mind of any civilized person that waterboarding is torture.

There is no ambiguity in the fact that torture is illegal.

By far, the strongest argument for torture is that terrotists do it.

By that argument, I am sure that the utterly depraved would justify raping children, just because some criminals do it.

Those trying to justify torture, including George W Bush, are among those utterly depraved.

The military has stated they don't get good reliable information from torture techniques, so why does this President continue with this?

After WWII we put the Japanese on trial for waterboarding our soldiers. What does this look like, folks? Is the rest of the world going to take the US to the World Court and put us on trial for torture?

Start the impeachment now! What more can this President do to bring down the reputation of our country? I fear that question.

If the GOP obstructs - make sure those obstructing are publicly censured by their own constituants. If the people of this country do not rally at this point we will have lost our country to King George. Will our elections next year be safe from those that would steal our vote? I also fear this question!

While using torture in no way guarantees that it will extract valid intel, it does accomplish one thing. It gives our enemies another credible propaganda weapon to stir up anti-American sentiment and recruit more terrorists around the globe. You see, we can't let our adversary just wither away, and thus lose the very foundation for our present imperial policies and occupations, both foreign and domestic. No question, Bush has shown consistent competence in preventing that from happening.

When I went to school, a long, long time ago, I was taught that basically Americans are the good guys. Yeah, a lot of rough bits were left out, about Indians and Blacks, etc. But on the whole, it was a pretty accurate statement.

Now here's the things. Bush and Cheney are not particularly nice people. They invade countries because they have the power to do so. They torture their captives. They plunder and grow rich.

Imagine starting a war to pimp up the value of the Vice President's stock options, which is basically what we did.

And yeah, lot's of decent people in this country feel terrible about it. And then we have the trolls who think it's funny.

We know that an official from the Justice Department was waterboarded before he put out his opinion on it. He said afterwords it was TORTURE. Apparently, we need to do the same things with the two cowards in the White House that avoided Vietnam, but talk tough now about torture. Dumbya "AWOL or Cheerleader" Bu$h and Dick "FIVE Deferment" Cheney need to see this technique used firsthand. Get out the DEPENDS, because these "heroes" can last a long time. NOT!!!

if Bush claims "We don't torture," then why should he object to a bill like this?
