Democratic presidential rivals called for higher taxes on the wealthiest Americans and on some corporations Thursday and said any thought of balancing the federal budget would have to wait.

"We're not going to be able to dig ourselves out" of Bush-era deficits in the next year or two, said Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, one of six Democratic rivals sharing a debate stage for the final time before Iowa's leadoff Jan. 3 caucuses.

I am hoping that Biden, Edwards, or Obama win the DNC nomination. I can't stand the thought of Clinton in the WH again, extending the Bush/Clinton dynasty of globalism and status quo politics of the DC aristocracy.

Why bother to vote, the fix is in. Hillary will be our next dictator, er, president.
She has to pay back the health industry and the Chinese and pardon Hue.
After eight years of her, yes the stupid will re-elect her like they did her husband and the monkey, then Jeb will get elected for eight years then Chelsy will run, then......

Hey Hillary. Not buying into the pasted on smile. You were a Goldwater Republican.

Obama. I have no idea what you stand for.

Edwards has a very clear message and it hasn't changed. Plus I agree with it.

By studying the pinkness and size of my cuticles I have determined that John Edwards will be our next president.

Hell, it's as good as any of the other prognostications.

Mrs. I cannot win wants to spoil it for everyone else. If I cannot win on the issue, then I will have fun smearing as many people as I can. I do care who wins by all means necessary. What a poor attitude. Hillary everyone know who you are. You have define yourself. Your action speak louder than your words. apologize at the last minute dose not work. What a shame What a shame.

Kucinch wasn't even allowed to participate.
This makes this debate invalid. It also shows how the Big Money interests control the US government.
Big money sure hopes Clinton wins. Clinton the first showed he was available to the highest bidder and so is Hillary.
Kucinich is the only Candidate who has shown he is devoted to Freedom and the average American.

O.K. ; they've all had their say , and , I'm not even remotely impressed , with any of them.

I don't see a "President" between the bunch of them (much less , the lowly Rethuglicans). Now , more than ever before , we need a genuinely "intelligent" and fair-minded impartial LEADER that can help us all navigate in this increasingly dangerous and tumultuous world. No more religious and/or corrupt agendas.

Is this the best our country can produce as viable candidates ? How sad !!

I'll take flying saucers and a side of green
tea as something to believe in over the sunshine
stories these people were selling...

John Edwards, AKA 'mortgage hedge fund guy'/ambulance chaser...Billery 'been there, done that' Clinton, Do we really need another
automaton? Dennis is the 'real deal', and
if he teamed up with Paul, I think they'd clean
house on these people...

Barack was always the under dog in the race. Now he is pulling past all. Most said he could not become the front runner. There are to many out their believe he can. Now, it maybe time to eat some old crow. He is not a light weight. Just ask Hillary.

EDWARDS is the man! I love him. He is determined to take down the big guys. I am all for it. ALSO, he has a mind of his own. His answers are HIS answers, and not scripted. He is on a mission to win the White House and there is NOTHING bad that can be said about that man. So he overpaid for a haircut...BIG DEAL! He looks darn good in it.

Edwards displayed with mechanical efficiency the same confidence and populism that he perfected on the campaign trail. "Corporate power and greed have taken over the government...You have to be willing to fight...I've been fighting these people and winning my entire life."

"Corruption, greed, and entrenched interests... Unite America. Stand up and fight back against these people," says Edwards.

He was very good in his themes. His criticisms were constant, his answers honest. He was inspired by his passion. He is demanding Justice for the middle class and working man and woman. He wants insurance for children and an end to this war.

Both the audience and commentators alike said he won the debate.

Dodd stumbled twice. Hillary told us of "hard work" - for whom, Walmart or NAFTA interests? Or her corporate masters?

No, John Edwards is a man who knows the real enemies of America - the corporate interests, the transnational corporations. Rather than working for them he has indeed fought them all of his career with good results.

Corruption will not "go away" if you ask the entrenched interests that control our country and the pathetic media clowns we call the free press to "be nice." The Military Industrial Complex that wants a permanent war for other countries resources will not be defeated or reduced by one who has played their game.

Dodd has too much "financial" baggage, too. Biden has some fire in the belly at times but has no stood up in the way I would have expected.

Richardson was on message at times but needed to lose weight. Too many hot dogs. Edwards is in fighting shape. Who does his hair? For his early fifties he's looking good and has that Southern drawl.

Hillary gets busted by Obama and freezes like a deer caught in headlights: http://my.barackobama.com/page/community/post_group/ObamaHQ/CBl9 It was hillarious and, confirmed just why Obama is the one.
