Roger Clemens*. Andy Pettite*. I remember when people ooed and aahed about how Roger was so disciplined in his exercise and diet, rest, even the off-season, always regimented. And how he mentored Andy Pettite. So, now it turns out the boys weren't just lifting weights in the locker room. They were also having cocktails. So what??

I've heard many people say Roger Clemens is the greatest major league pitcher ever. I have no reason to dispute that. But now will these tight-assed alcohol-pushing Republicans demand that he be frozen out of the Hall of Fame? Will they demand that an asterisk be put next to his name? Will he be indicted and threatened with doing time in federal prison?

Or is that just for black baseball players?

I'll tell you, you look at the faces of many of these people in Congress -- like purple road maps, with their broken blood vessels from years of drowning every night in a bottle of booze. And they have the nerve to attack someone else who is not a drunk, but has some other drug of choice? Give me a break.

In fact the Republicans worship at the feet of an admitted drug addict and alcoholic, George W. Bush**, and a known drunk Dick DUI Cheney**. How do they condemn other drugs when their lives are soaked in their own drug of choice. And alcohol, as an aside, destroys more lives and causes more deaths than steroids ever dreamed of doing. Not that I'm a fan of steroids.

As soon as the country makes alcohol illegal, then let's talk about steroids.

The elite want the public to obsess on drugs: Obama did a line in high school, Clemens took some powder. They want the public to be distracted by this irrelevant issue. While the politicians loot the treasury, murder hundreds of thousands, lie, cheat, steal, destroy the constitution.

Yeah, sure, let's worry about the supplements in the health food store. That's why everybody's out of work and broke -- because Barry Bonds put some powder in his breakfast drink.
