I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Obama Mocks Clinton

Democratic candidates gathered in Iowa today for their final debate before the January caucuses. The overall feeling of the debate was cordial considering the recent heightened spats between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton's respective campaigns.

The atmosphere tensed up briefly when Obama was asked what new foreign policies he could offer with a staff of so many ex-Clinton advisers.

Read the exchange from AP:

Hillary Clinton laughed out loud, and said with a smile on her face, "I'm looking forward to hearing that."

Obama, also smiling, waited for the laughter to die down before saying, "Hillary, I'm looking forward to you advising me as well."

If John Edwards blinks one more time while he speaks I think I will scream. His eyes flutter just like a girl in heat when he's trying to make a speech to the camera.

I'm sorry, but I've learned over the years that if you are looking away from the person you are talking to or if you are blinking constantly - you are either lying about something or exaggerating.

If not for his blinking and losing both the Pres and VP campaign in 2004 - I just might vote for him.

In this debate, I saw a President and her cabinet.

Hillary: "It takes a Clinton to clean up after a Bush"

But it will take two to clean up after the w disaster.

As a conservative on fiscal matters and a liberal on social issues... Obama is my choice among dems. If you would formally, or informally, poll conservatives, Obama would be the top choice for democrats. In a general election, he would 'keep' all progressives/dems, get a strong majority of independents, and pull off some conservative voters. Edwards might do the same in fairness to him, but Hillary? She would do the worst of the big three in a general election against a generic republican, although perhaps it won't matter much this year given W's Shermanesque reign.

Obama is the first modern-day democratic pol, or any pol, I would feel proud voting for. He represents the very best in our country. He transcends race, party and is an smart idealist in the tradition of RFK.

It's nice that Obama will reserve a place for the Dowager.

i'M NOT A hILARY FAN...BUT...HER ANSWERS WERE TO THE POINT. i LIKE TO HEAR ANSWERS THAT ARE LESS THAN PANDERING TO WHATEVER ENTITY THE CANDIDATE THINKS DOMINATES THE AUDIENCE. ANY OF THOSE DEBATING TODAY WOULD MAKE A GREAT PRESIDENT...BUT HILARY TOLD WHAT SHE WOULD DO AS PRESIDENT AND HOW SHE'D DO IT. REFRESHING...!

Very well moderated debate, I thought (altho' Edwards might have been slighted just a bit)... Maybe if prior debates had be done the same way we'd have different "front-runners".

It certainly proves that debates should NOT EVER be moderated by TV "news" personalities.

I'll tell you libs the truth. John Edwards would be your best candidate against the GOP. He's got the whole package. The look, the talk, and he's southern. If he could put 1 southern state in play, just 1 southern state you'd win the presidency. You won't pick him so we don't have to worry about it. He-he.

Next would be Obama. He's got the look and the talk, but he's not southern. You'd have to play the same game as last time and try to get Ohio or Florida to win. Very good chance for Obama to win, but beatable. I'd guess he could put it off with a foreign policy Veep.

Hillary Hillary Hillary. Please pick her. We've already dusted off the beat Clinton game plan and this time the Clinton can't talk. We would eat her for lunch. She doesn't have the look, she can't talk, and she motivates our base. You better dig up Perot/Bloomburg cause only a third party run gets Hillary elected.

Hey love you guys even if I disagree with ya. We're all Americans after all.

Livin in a restroom wonderland
_______________

The GOP ... they’re so easy
Find a john ... that’s real sleazy
And they’re down on their knees waiting to please
Livin in a restroom wonderland!

*

Bj wants a doll that has two ends
No confusion when it turns around
Driving it around in his Nova
Giving lessons to the trolls that come to town

*

The GOP …

Down on their knees ... waiting to please
Livin ... in a restroom ... (drum roll) WonderLAND!

What does it say about Barak if he did those coke lines all by himself? You'd have to be a real drug fiend to fly solo with coke. What kind of guy smokes a fatty and doesn't break off some for his homeboy? Who steals drugs from his connection by stiffing the dope man and if he paid the dude, he funded the exploitation of his people.

Get what I mean?

I'm not saying this shit (Billy Shaheen, New Hampshire co-chair, Clinton campaign) you understand, but it's what those damn, dirty Republicans will say if Obama wins the nomination. You understand what I'm telling you? Did you get all that? Uh, when does your next issue appear on newstands?

Watching the political talks shows with Clinton's people and Obama's people being interviewed.

One thing I have noticed is that the people from Clinton's team sort of come across as being a little mean and like jerks.

While Obama's people appear to be having fun and upbeat.

Does anyone else see that?

Obama's response to Hilliary's weak and misguided challenge, was the single best exchange of this young campaign. The proverbial walk-off Grand Slam!

Once the media realizes they fussed over the wrong candidates, they'll start covering Edwards the way they should have from the start. :)
