Oreilly Christmas
On "The O'Reilly Factor" last night, Bill O'Reilly — who boasts that he's leading the fight against the secular progressive "War On Christmas" (and who one columnist dubbed as leading the "crusaders for creches" ) — declared victory over the "Taliban-like oppression" of Christmas.

Because Bill O'Reilly saved Christmas, "all over the country, the sights and sounds of Christmas are on display. Few department stores are telling employees not to say, 'Merry Christmas.'"

And to those of you who think religion has no place in the public square, Christmas Crusader O'Reilly has seven words for you: "Joseph Stalin, Mao, and Fidel salute you!"

The public sphere he is referring to in this clip is department stores. Department stores are in the business - in your town and mine – of selling gifts for people of all religions at Christmastime. It is that simple. They make more money when people of all denominations feel welcomed. They do not want to take a 20% loss on sales because they fail to include everyone. Even a 2% loss it a big hit at Christmas time.

This guy gets it too.

It is not about PC taking over. It is about selling the most merchandise to the most number of people. It is further workings of the commercialism of Christmas. It is not a plot. It is business.

He gets it: but chooses not to – there is no money in it for him.

Bill O’Reilly is working his own commercialism: Selling victimhood makes him money.

The conspiracy here is his.
Oh, what a lovely pay check.

I had a boss who was making a thing about saying "Merry Christmas" to customers as a "protest" against all the "holiday" usage. One day I left work & said "Happy Hanukkah" because it was, in fact, Hanukkah. It was interesting how uncomfortable he was with the shoe on the other foot as he mumbled something about me being "politically correct." But I was being no such thing. I was just issuing a greeting. I wonder what the O'Reilly fans would think if a store started giving Hanukkah greetings to everyone. Would they freak out that someone else's religion was being shoved down their throats?
By the way, I think "political correctness" is another bogus issue like the "war on xmas". The only place "PC" seems to exist is in the minds of people who complain about it.
If there is a "war on xmas" it's the sick commercialism that equates spending money like there's no tomorrow with what used to be a religious holiday. For some people, for a few minutes on the 25th, it still is.

Has anyone here ever met anyone who didn't like Christmas? Who really hated it? You might as well claim that there's a war on sunlight.

Sunlight is on display. The oppression of sunlight has largely ceased. Pale people are mad!

I'm waiting for Bill-O to land a sleigh on the roof of The Mall of America, in a full Santa suit and declare 'MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!'

Nothing quite like Bill "Loofah" O'Reilly talking about his imaginary war on Christmas to give us all a good laugh.

Oh my God, no. NO, NO, NO, NO !!!!

This just goes to show what happens when liberalism rears its ugly face and despicable creed among honest God fearing folk.

by Rog49Thomas

I hope your kidding, because if your not you just don’t get it. As a Catholic I do not fear God I was taught to love him. I was taught that God is all knowing, all forgiving and most of all loving. This is the core of Catholic dogma. I was taught that the death of Jesus was preordained. Jesus took human form to suffer and die for our sins, we also believe in the Resurrection. If Jesus walked the earth today he would be saddened by the hatred and brutality being perpetrated in his name. You are entitled to belief in a God to be feared, I do not. By all accounts Jesus was a liberal who was feared only by people just like you. His teachings were feared by the religious conservatives of his time, just like you. I don't blame his executioners because the death of Jesus was meant to be, preordained. If Jesus walked the earth today, people like you would ridicule him once again you would call him deshonest or liberal, because you are small, consumed with hatred of people who do not look like you or share your beliefs.

There are anti semites who are mean. There are anti semites who are stupid or ill informed. Bill O is all of the above. It's all about being anti semitic.

Evil, stupid man.

PRIVATE COMPANIES CAN SAY WHATEVER THEY WANT. BUT OUR PUBLICLY FUNDED AREAS AND BUILDINGS SHOULD HAVE zero RELIGIOUS AFFILIATION OR STATEMENT. What is so hard to understand. Faith is a private matter and should not be endorsed by local, state, or federal government. Christ alnotmighty.

These folks only can think in terms of war.
How come?

Well, it shows their inner working. Kind of a Freudian slip.
