Oreilly Christmas
On "The O'Reilly Factor" last night, Bill O'Reilly — who boasts that he's leading the fight against the secular progressive "War On Christmas" (and who one columnist dubbed as leading the "crusaders for creches" ) — declared victory over the "Taliban-like oppression" of Christmas.

Because Bill O'Reilly saved Christmas, "all over the country, the sights and sounds of Christmas are on display. Few department stores are telling employees not to say, 'Merry Christmas.'"

And to those of you who think religion has no place in the public square, Christmas Crusader O'Reilly has seven words for you: "Joseph Stalin, Mao, and Fidel salute you!"

I am going to take christmas off this year. Except for the turkey.
I don't watch fox so if regular games plus the super bowl or baseball or other major sports events are on fox, oh well I guess I am not interested anymore.
I am going to vote completely democratic including the dog catcher. If the current dems want my vote they better straighten up their act.
I have totally given up on all things religious.
I am seriously considering getting rid of my cable tv.

I don't think that I am the only one that thinks like this.

Gee Billo you must be winning us over.

I never understand how the likes of O'reilly,
Rush Limbaugh, Glenbeck became journalists
and enjoy a wide audience. I guess it tells
you a lot about the IQ of the average
american. It looks like I am in the wrong
field, for when I am wasting my time proving
theorems, these nincompoops are rolling in the
money. What a mad mad mad world...
As for christmas, what the hell is wrong for
saying Merry Merry Christmas...

Christmas is just glorified pagan solstice worship with the added bonus of usurious credit card debt. So there should be a war on it.

Do you think Bill-O wanted this phoney war on Xmas so he could sell more of his made-in-China lead-coated garbage at his O'Liely store.

In Republican circles, this strategy is considered "brilliant salesmenship".

Its their equivilent to being creative.

They mock the very notion of what we should be celebrating - the birth of the single most astonishing soul to ever come to this planet, who pleaded with us to love one another, care for the sick, the poor, the disadvantaged, and to unite under the wings of universal brotherhood that wars would end and we would serve and love each another.

That its become a justification for the selling of goods, the measure of our worth as individuals as to how much crap we buy each other, is the greatest travesty of all.

Go buy yourself some humility and grace Bill.

Jesus would approve.

REPUBLICAN CHRSITIANITY or HOW TO TURN FRIENDS INTO ATHIESTS

I just think Bill O'Rielly's religion has no place in the public square, people who parade their religion are gross. Like the Washington Post commentator noted, "Keyes raises a good theoretical question: if God Himself were to come down to earth and wreak havoc with our cherished constitutional liberties would an American president be obliged to take Him on?"

My reply would be: Damn straight an American President would, and that same President and leaders of all the nations would have to get together to destroy God because the sheer fact of solid proof of ITs existence means a threat to the world. At any moment IT, GOD, could come in a do or undo things like making fissionable material unfissionable and the reverse. Wreaking economies by killing or lifting millions of people to heaven. Rearranging the land masses into a more aesthetic shape.

Another thought, if GOD were to come down what would preclude the existence of other Gods such as Siva, Vishnu, Apollo (who admittedly might be rather hard to fit into the cosmic hierarchy given what we know about astronomy these days) etc?

Finally, if Alan Keyes et al think GOD is their GOD and they speak for IT, perhaps Keyes, Huckabee, etc should be considered prophets for the new era -- and we should ask them to ask GOD to stop global warming. That would be a neat trick, and might be worth electing a guy president for, no? Or course if a modern prophet could get GOD to stop global warming, why would he or she WANT to be President? I mean talk about Power....

billo's reference to the founding fathers was disingenous at best ... wait ... let me call it what it was ... a bunch of unadultered crap. Ben Franklin would have written a chapter about billo in poor richard's after he implanted a large key on billo's keister and tied him to a kite. as well all know, ben didnt abide fools.!
the majority of our founding fathers were diests who would have found any discussion about christmas to be irrelevant. finally, i guess billo has forced numerous christian denominations and sects to accept his narrow view of the birth of christ ... or perhaps he is just delusional.

who wants to bet that the day of this broadcast the republicans or the bush administration was in some sort of trouble. when ever that happens, fox gets hyper about christmas or natalee( some one should have taught her parents how to spell)holloway. whenever you see either of these lame ass stories, switch to another news show to see who f**ked up

Sometimes O'Reilly is simply a lunatic and sometimes he is a scary lunatic. Here he is a scary lunatic. No aggrandizement of his ego is too much for him.

I wish he would start doing his show in a full general's uniform with a chest full of medals, as befitting the supreme commander of the pro-Christmas forces in the war on Christmas.

Whatever, Bill. Under our former governor - a Republican - nativity scenes were removed from public parks in my state, Ohio.

Under the current governor, A Democrat named Ted Strickland, they have been put back but must include the figures of a Hindu and a Zoarastian...as the real nativity scene containing the baby Jesus likely did. That's what our set contained when I was a child and that's the way we liked it!

Julius Caesar said "I came, I saw, I conquered."

Not to be outdone, O'Reilly declared a war on Christmas, single-handedly won it, and now is the hero of Christmas. He even suffered some rhetorical slings and arrows. All future generations should have a picture of O'Reilly next to the Christmas tree, as he is the saviour of Christmas.
