House Speaker Nancy Pelosi lashed out at Republicans on Thursday, saying they want the Iraq war to drag on and are ignoring the public's priorities.

"They like this war. They want this war to continue," Pelosi, D-Calif., told reporters. She expressed frustration over Republicans' ability to force majority Democrats to yield ground on taxes, spending, energy, war spending and other matters.

A Joe Biden's Resolution to End the War in Iraq was passed by Congress this week. It will now to the President to sign. The bill passed the Senate in October 75 to 23 (2 Senators didn't vote - Obama didn't vote), and the House this week passed the bill. It will now go to President Bush to be signed or vetoed.

THIS IS THE NEWS WE SHOULD BE READING ON HUFFINGTON POST!

www.joebiden.com

for the full information on the resolution to end the war in Iraq and more news on Joe Biden.

This resolution has the support of 5 members of the UN Security Council which Joe negotiated with last April of 2007.

THANKS JOE BIDEN - for putting an actual plan before world leaders, Congress, and getting consensus. Now President Bush is forced to face the issue.

NANCY PELOSI HAS SIMPLY ALLOWED BUSH TO HAVE HIS WILL--HER PROMISES MEANT NOTHING, AND HER PREACHMENTS NOW ARE EMPTY. IF ANYONE LOVES THIS WAR, IT IS THE DEMOCRATIC MAJORITY IN THE HOUSE. THEY HAVE NOT DONE ANYTHING REAL BECAUSE THEY ARE AS BEHOLDING AS ANY FAT-ASSSED GOP-ITE TO THE GIANT CORPORATIONS THAT FUND AND FASHION]
BULLETS--WITH PRECISE LIMITS FOR BURYING THOSE WHO "VOLUNTEERED"A BUT ENDED UP IN AN ALUMINUM BOX FOR A FREE FLIGHT HOME. IT IS SICKENING--JAMES MC CORMICK

Pelosi went on to soften her jackass remarks when asked to clarify...:

"I shouldn't say they like the war," she said. "They support the war, the course of action that the president is on."

What a jerk she is.

Oh, the view from Dr. Pauls side...We know how our candidate stands...We know how he votes...We know how he stands on issues, and despite him telling us NOT TO, we trust him!

Ya see, Nancy knows too much about duhbya!

Nancys been to Daddy Bushs estate in River Oaks more than once..
The SHEEPLE fail to see the truth that the parties have left them high and dry..
Politicians are stepping out of their seat in the middle of their term, saying fuck you to all who supported them, in their constituents time of need with wounded veterans.
The SHEEPLE get trampled upon every time and keep coming back for more..
Hoping, next time it will be different.

The corrupt politicians set up the hoops and the SHEEPLE keep jumping through.

There is only one R3VOLution!

You had better join us..
Our candidate is clean...We can use him to expose the others by using their own platforms against them..
They cant retaliate!
They have no ammo on Paul.
He is clean..
Watch them squirm as he uses their own corrupt platforms and their warped views against them..
Watch how Paul uses the media to drive home his grassroots efforts by making them all feel stupid for not covering him..
Watch how the media and the other politicians underestimated him and enabled his campaign to stay under the radar..
Does neither party not notice HALF their base is missing?
?
We know Dennis did the right thing...They knew it was coming and he received more media exposure than if he had debated!
Good for him..
I think hes taking lessons from Ron on how to play it.
Watch our champion of the Constitution use the education he has been holding for this very moment in time!

And thus it is with Chickenhawks. They love any war they don't have to fight. They love any war that fills their coffers with money (especially sweet when it's stolen from taxpayers!). And they love the opportunity to be the Chickenhawks they are, by pounding their chests (being careful not to upset their lapel flags) and acting brave for the cameras when they accuse others of not supporting the troops. Supporting the troops is doing what's best for them...which means removing them from harms way in a theater of operations that is designed to be unwinnable, while also being unlosable. This is a formula for Korea like military presence for the rest of time.

The Chickenhawks are very brave when it's not their asses that are on the line. If any of them had to face incoming fire, they'd shit themselves and collapse into a fetal position while begging not to die. Tis the way of the brave Chickenhawk!

Oh, how I wish comments posted here on Huffpo, could be forwarded to the subject person of the article - in this case, Mrs. Pelosi!!

Oddly enough her website seems to be down - no emails are going through!! Maybe the American people finally sent so many emails, her system crashed!! More than likely, she disconnected cuz she doesn't want to hear our truth!!

How in hell can she say the Republicans are the only ones that want this war to continue, against the wishes of the American people, when it's the DEMOCRATS that keep giving them the money to allow this war to continue; while education programs, health programs, and on and on, continue to suffer in this country???

I'm really fed up with this whole scenario...and waiting until the '08 elections is too late.

But if they DO make us wait until '08, heads better roll!!!!!!

Well, it's true. All of the Republicans except McCain, who doesn't have a chance, are all for keeping this war going. If they will it will be 'more of the same'--a 3rd Bush term with a new face on it.

"Powerline" offers thoughts on Pelosi's bizarre statement:
***

"They like this war," [Pelosi] said. "They want this war to continue. That was a revelation to me. I had thought they would listen to their constituents and change their position."
________

Pelosi confesses here to a failure of imagination that does her no credit. She really can't understand that most Republicans, and many other Americans, believe it is important that we succeed, not fail, in Iraq. Not only that, she can't understand how politicians can be guided by anything other than polls and concern for their own careers.

The idea that Republicans "like" war is weird at best. No one "likes" war, and the Iraq war has been disastrous politically for the Republicans. Nevertheless, Pelosi is unable to imagine that Republicans are doing what they think is in the country's best interests. If you think about it, it makes you wonder about what motivates Pelosi.

From ABC News:

Exclusive: Eyewitness Account of Huge Taliban Defeat
December 13, 2007 10:39 AM

Afghanistan's government flag was raised Wednesday on what had been one of the biggest strongholds of the Taliban and al Qaeda in Afghanistan and a leading world center of heroin production.

The town of about 45,000 people was secured at about 9:30 a.m. as Afghan troops, steered by British soldiers and U.S. Green Berets, drove out remnants of the Taliban resistance from Musa Qala in the opium poppy region of northern Helmand.

As the only journalist to join NATO forces entering the town, I found it a ghost town abandoned by both the Taliban and its residents at the end of an eight-day coalition operation. The offensive was one of NATO's biggest in the country since Operation Anaconda in 2002.

Embedded with a team of British troops and a detachment/"A"team" of U.S. special forces, I watched the Taliban being pounded these last few days with overwhelming force -- vapor trails circled in the clear blue sky over the Helmand desert as B1 and B52 bombers backed by A10 tank busters, F16s, Apache helicopters and Specter gunships were used to kill hundreds of Taliban fighters.

The operation was launched last Tuesday with an attack across the Helmand River by British Royal Marine commandos, a thrust from the west by light armor of the U.K. Household Cavalry Regiment; all this, however, was a feint for the main airborne landing from the north of a battalion of soldiers of Task Force Fury from the 82nd Airborne.

Faced with a full brigade of NATO forces, a brigade of Afghan government fighters and the defection of a key Taliban commander, the Taliban chose not to flee at first but to fight a desperate battle. .....

Pelosi is in no position to slam anyone. She claims they "like the war"....who the hell does she think she's fooling? She likes it too. She thinks people have forgotten her "impeachment is off the table" or this continuing the funding for this illegal occupation. People expect the Repugs to stand behind Shrub, no matter how stupid the things he says and does. How does one reconcile a Democratic speaker of the house giving Shrub anything and everything he wants?
Nancy is not fooling anyone...except herself!
