She is clearly tempted by the prospect but Renee Zellweger - like her most famous screen creation - has weight issues to deal with before she will play Bridget Jones again.

For her first two films as Helen Fielding's diary-writing singleton, Renee piled two stone on to her tiny frame and then rapidly shed the pounds afterwards.

Asked whether the health implications of such yo-yo dieting were a factor in reprising the role, Renee said: "You are not kidding.

It's not just a matter of looks. Being thinner feels better, and it's healthier. 30 pounds on a petite frame like hers is a LOT, and it's hard to lose that much as well. In addition, forcing yourself to gain weight almost certainly involves eating things that are bad for your health. Then there is the added strain being heavy puts on all your organs, especially your heart. I think she would be crazy to do it again.

She obiviously has an eating disorder now. She looks awful and look what she's done to her face w/ all that goddamn surgery!

She went from looking cadaverous to looking normally healthy. What a shame people think she's 'bulking up' for a role.
