Mike Huckabee, who has joked about his lack of foreign policy experience, is criticizing the Bush administration's efforts, denouncing a go-it-alone "arrogant bunker mentality" and questioning decisions on Iraq.

Huckabee, the former Arkansas governor now running for the Republican presidential nomination, lays out a policy plan that is long on optimism but short on details in the January-February issue of the journal Foreign Affairs, which is published by the Council on Foreign Relations. A copy of his article was released Friday.

As if he hadn't been 100% behind Bush's madness.

With our choices shaping up as the Reverend Huckabee and Senator Obama, both men of preachment, buckle up your bible belt--it is going to be a bumpy ride.

He may be right, but he is only saying this to direct us away from his plans for turning America towards a Middle Eastern style theocracy...maybe add a fourth branch of government...the Evangelical branch.

Church over state, Religion over science, Business over human rights, subjegation of women, outlaw dissent.... like any of that is a viable alternative to the current mess..

I somehow get the feeling that Huckabee thinks if he just were to get in the White House, telling us Chuck Norris jokes, watching Holiday Inn Express commercials, and holding prayer vigils will fix everything. That, and releasing every criminal who comes up to the podium for altar call should solve all our problems, all right.

America has become one big revival tent and religious fervor is growing at an alarming rate. Pathetic politicians babbling their faith based claptrap and fundamentalist takeover of the current regime in the White House does not bode well for the future. The Enlightenment of the 18th century that produced the rational thought and common sense that led to some of the greatest thinkers and movements in history are no longer a part of the wisdom needed in these times to reverse the return to theocratic dogma and superstition. Just as America deserved the incompetency of George Bush, It deserves the idiocy of Huckabee.

"Bunker" mentality? Is he calling Bush a Nazi? At least Bush will be not be arming 12-year-olds to go fight the GWOT, like Hitler did to fight the Russians after all able bodied German men were dead or POW's. Well, Bush still has 12 months.

Huckadoodle was smart enough to hire Ed Rollins, which was a good move on his part. Ed is very smart, capable, organized, and if I were a Repukian, I'd hire him to run my campaign. Although I wonder where Huckafat got the money because Ed doesn't work for free.
Ed will have Huckleberry take some shots at Bush in order to draw the independents and the disgruntled Democrats. He'll play the "regular guy" thing to the hilt: Huck isnt the guy you'd drink a beer with. He's the really nice next door neighbor who grills alot and lets you borrow his tools. One thing about Rollins-managed candidates: They'll keep it simple and they'll stay on message. Don't fool yourself into thinking that Hucklelbuck can't win this thing.

I guess the reason he is surging ahead in the Republican polls is because he does have some sense, but that doesn't make him presidential material. The Republican candidates are so awful, he doesn't have to do much to rise to the top.

So now you start criticizing your 'boy'--Bush, kicking him when he's down and almost out? Just all of a sudden like? Where were you for most of the last seven years? What clued you in? God send you a personal blast of realization while you were sleeping last night? Ya kinda see how this might look like political opportunism, don't ya Huck? Or do you think that all of America is as stupid as your Fundie base?

Yes, and Huck's Archie Bunker mentality is right there for all to see. He and his snake handler buddies really know how to run our nation and our world. Spare me.

The CFR, council on foreign relations, that's a fine outfit. There's never been a war, invasion, occupation, lie, assassination that they didn't like. Using this as a source Hucksterbee is coddling with war mongers.

Speaking of mentality, one has to wonder what this nimrod was thinking about when he pushed to free a rapist, soon to be rapist murderer.
Huckabee, as Governor, released a vile animal who went on to rape and murder one woman and was about to be charged with another when he died. What was Huckabee thinking?
This is not the person we need making decisions for our country.
The MSM has all but buried this issue as old news, but it is important to keep it in the flow. If one of the victim's was my daughter, I doubt I would forgive and forget who the enabler was.
