Why aren't more people mentioning the fact that the FAIR tax is anything but? Sales taxes are regressive by nature: Lower income people have lower savings rates, meaning they spend more of their income (in many cases all of it) on purchases. So a person making $20,000 who is unable to save any money is paying 23% of their income in taxes. Meanwhile, someone making $80,000 and saving 20% of their income would only be paying 18.4% of their income in taxes. Move up to the hedge fund managers and private equity types who make hundreds of millions and save or reinvest the vast majority of that, and that percentage drops to absurdly low levels.

The FAIR tax is the ultimate way to shift the tax burden from wealth to work, and anyone advocating it is advocating an all out war against the working class.
