Jury Deadlocked Over Homegrown "Sears Tower Terrorists"

In a stinging defeat for the Bush administration, one of seven Miami men accused of plotting to join forces with al-Qaida to blow up Chicago's Sears Tower was acquitted Thursday, and the case against the rest ended in a hung jury.

Federal prosecutor Richard Gregorie said the government planned to retry the six next year, and the judge said a new jury would be picked starting Jan. 7.

they never get convictions in these so-called terrorist trials, except Jose Padilla but they had to torture him with solitary confinement etc to win that conviction.

Over a year ago on Huffpo I predicted acquittal for these suspects. For starters, they're too ignorant to pull off a terrorist attack.

While they haven't been acquitted, it appears reasonable doubt has been established. And one was completely acquitted.

I again predict, after a second, or perhaps third or even fourth trial, these suspects will, to the man, be acquitted and set free.

I believe this was nothing more than a set-up by the FBI, trying to create terrorists where there were nothing but a bunch of stupid-ass homeys talking trash.

And at least SOME members of the jury apparently saw right through it.
