The White House said Friday that it had received a verbal reply through diplomatic channels to President Bush's letter to North Korean leader Kim Jong Il about Pyongyang's nuclear programs.

"We received a verbal reply," White House spokesman Gordon Johndroe said, adding that it came through New York diplomatic channels. He did not provide details of the reply.

dear george,
remember when we were developing WMDs and Iraq wasn't and you invaded iraq anyway. i knew then you were little more than a windbag who was full of it. thanks for the letter but it is too late, and besides we are still part of the axis of evil, as is Iraq or whoever is controlling it.

Are we witnessing Bush's attempt to join the Axis of Evil?

Now if bush can just refrain from name-calling and bullying, maybe we can get back on track.

"We'll live up to our side, we hope you'll live up to yours," the official paraphrased Kim's message as saying.

I can understand this. The deal Kim and Clinton had was running fairly smooth until Bush stop the shipments of oil to NK. Thats when the shat hit the fan. Im not saying Kim was totally sticking to the agreement, but there was no discussion about it, Bush just called him evil and cut him off. But, you have to remember the Bush family has been huge supporters of Rev. Moon. And Rev. Moon and little Kim dont get along all that well. So no matter what Kim did, short of leaving NK or dying, this was going to probably happen anyway.

I don't care what anyone has to say, I like this mans style! I know it's not for everyone, but what do you expect after being stuck in Pyongyang most of the year. Look at him! How could it have happened? It's like this little mutant-Elvis has risen up in the sea of gray that is North Korea. And his clothing..... brilliant! You know he's got the dough to roll plus access to any mail-order catalogue in the world, yet look at what he comes up with. I'm thinking old-time filling station attendant crossed with the best of Chairman Mao. A sure winner in the midst of the utilitarian drabness of his fellow countrymen. Is there any wonder why he can play Boy George like a virtuoso? As it is, it's probably best our two countries remain estranged.... Kim would RULE if he ever went to Hollywood. He'd knock Brittany out of the headlines in the time it took him to tease his doo into shape.

It's wintertime. The NK's couldn't spare the paper because they'd rather burn it to keep warm.

"The White House said Friday that it had received a verbal reply..."

as opposed to a non-verbal reply, like an expressive dance?
