What would it cost to buy the support of just about every nationally-syndicated neocon talk show host in America? About $19.5 Billion, which is what Mitt Romney's private equity firm, Bain Capital, and Thomas H. Lee Partners have agreed to pay in a leveraged buyout agreement with Clear Channel Communications, the largest radio station owner in the country.

Ed. Note -- The original story we posted on this topic inferred that Bain Capital had recently purchased Clear Channel Communications. That is not true. The transaction took place in November of 2006. The facts remain that Bain earns a share of Clear Channel's profits and that Mitt Romney, while a retired partner, still earns money from the private equity firm.

In addition to this media grab the mormons own Bonneville International, another large media holding company.

I wonder how much of Bain Capital's 19.5 billion was tax exempt income to the mormon church being laundered?

Oh my goodness.

Hasn't clear channel been taking Air America type programing off the air in many markets?

This has to get out to the general public.

Anyone have any idea how?????

Imagine how awful it would be if a media group/corporation was devoted to bitterly criticizing the political beliefs of half of all Americans. Good thing we have the Huffington Post to set the record strait and remind us what mainstream thinking really looks like.

That was sarcasm.

Talk about buying an election!

After Flip Romney gets blown out in Iowa, squeaks by in New Hampshire, then gets blown out again in S.C., he'll need a neo-con media empire to save him.

If Romney is lucky, the story out of Iowa will be on Huckabee's win rather than the amount of money Flip blew on such a stunning fall. In New Hampshire, the narrative will be on McCain and Ron Paul's "surprise" showing, not so much the expected ho-hum victory by the former governor of the neighboring state.

I don't listen to right-wing radio, but it could be interesting to hear the likes of Rush treating Flip with kid gloves.

So any questions on why we need to bring back the fairness doctrine? Anyone? Anyone?
