Bill Clinton

Theatlantic.com:

In a hard-changing interview with Charlie Rose tonight, Bill Clinton said Americans who are prepared to choose someone with less experience, are prepared to "roll the dice" about the future of America. "It's less predictable, isn't it? When is the last time we elected a president based on one year of service before he's running?"

"What do you want to do -- whether you think it matters that, I mean, in theory, no experience matters," Clinton said. "In theory, we could find someone who is a gifted television commentators and let them run. They'd have only one year less experience in national politics..."

Having supported the Clintons thru the 90s, I cannot believe my ears, but I do and now the Clintons are anathema to me. DEAD. The two muslim emails, the Shaheen drug dealing comment and yesterdays Bob Kerry madrassa, muslim comments DISGUST me and the source INFURIATES me. Make no mistake about it, all Clinton sanctioned. Blacks TWICE tipped the scales heavily for Bill in the face of attacks like those they now shamelessly level against Obama.
For me also, TODAY, if the democratic party nominates these charlatans I am done voting Dem, done. Anyone but the Clintons. I want to see whether my party stands for oppresive, racist, demagogic ploys like these from arguably its party leaders.
Let blacks recognize. Yes, in the full slang meaning of the words, youse best to recordnize!

Franklin D. Roosevelt had one four-year term as New York governor; William McKinley, one four-year term in Ohio; Theodore Roosevelt, just two years as New York governor before becoming vice president; and Jimmy Carter, a single four-year term in Georgia.

Woodrow Wilson represents another blow against the argument for experience in office. Wilson, a lawyer, professor and university president, had never even sought public office before he was elected governor of New Jersey in 1910. Just two years later, he won the presidency. Although his historical reputation moves around some, he is generally rated as a successful president.

Abraham Lincoln, who is usually at the top of every list of great presidents was the only president with no experience as a governor, senator, Cabinet member, general or vice president. Lincoln’s previous experience in public office consisted of one term in the U.S. House, several terms in the Illinois Legislature and a brief tenure as postmaster of New Salem, Ill. He was also an unsuccessful merchant, a successful lawyer and twice an unsuccessful candidate for the U.S. Senate.

Hillary, her campaign, and her supporters are completely desperate at this point.
Politicaly speaking.

It is now all out on Obama. They ways in which people involved with her campaign are expressing their hard arguments in such negative ways, malicious character distortions and the like proves it.

The posts on here attacking for Hil reak of desperation.
It's over Clinton camp, America has seen enough. The majority of the people will pass.
We're tired of Bush and Hillary and Harry Reid and yes you Bill.
Say goodnight now.

Didn't we roll the dice on bill too? wasn't he a year younger than Obama is now? and didn't he have no national political experience, as opposed to Obama who will have had 4? Bill needs to get over himself.

Obama helps us track $1,000,000,000,000 of federal spending passing Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act of 2006. Tom Coburn and Barack Obama drafted legislation to show the pork how your congress is spending your money. Here is the sight to fine the pork on all your representative at USAspending.gov . Here is the link to the article below.

"Obama and Edwards also refuse money from political action committees controlled by corporations and other interests, but they and every other presidential candidate accept money from employees of corporations and other interests that employ lobbyists. According to the Center for Responsive Politics, 14 of Obama's top 20 contributors employed lobbyists this year, spending a total of $16.2 million to influence the federal government in the first six months of 2007. Of Edwards's top 20 contributors, only seven have employed lobbyists this year, spending a total of $6.3 million. But the plaintiff attorneys who dominate the list of Edwards's top donors are well represented in Washington by the influential American Association for Justice (formerly the Association of Trial Lawyers of America), which has spent at least $3 million on lobbying this year alone. As for Clinton, all but four of her top 20 contributors have employed lobbyists this year."

I have developed quite a lot of experience over 54 years of watching politics, reading history and readind world events. I still don't know why anyone would want to be President. But now looking at the state of our beloved USA the man or woman looking for "The Job" had better be focused on retrieving our Constitution and our Diplomatic corps. Having a candidate that has the most experience would help, but he or she who has a good strong, experienced , HONEST, loyal cabinet that is willing to work so hard that if they have to appear before a commitee the look fit and trim rather than the current adminstrations soft fat porky piggish examples. Mr. Clinton has lost his edge when it comes to campaigning or else he would not have sabotaged his wifes chances in any way.

"When is the last time we elected a president based on one year of service before he's running?"

Does Bill Clinton think we are all so uninformed to fall for that garbage? To so casually blow off Obama's experience as a community organizer and then state senator is dumb and all the talk about theory vs reality is just his brilliant mind off the rails. I guess they called him "slick willy" for good reason. If you can't win a debate with clear facts, them bombard with whatever comes to mind.

Sorry Bill and Hill, you may be prepared to lead from day one but the big unanswered question is "In what direction are you two headed with all this leadership skill?"

Have all of you forgotten Karl Rove and what role the Repugs played in both the 2000 and 2004 elections?

What the Repugs are looking for is the least likely winning candidate from the Democratic party. They have fed all of you Hillary haters BS for more than eight years and you have all fallen for their crap. If they can get you to hate Hillary enough, they can ensure a democratic Obama victory, and in their pea brains a Republican victory in 08!

This country is not ready to elect an Obama with the deep underlying rasism that exists here today. To read some of the retorts here, there is rasism for females as well.

The right wing owns the press but would have you believe otherwise. They have slowly brain washed you all with the hate that is pervasive in these posts.

Any democratic candidate has to be better than the inexperienced Bush candidate this country voted in twice!

Propaganda from the right wing starts with fear and hatred. It seems they have won the battle and turned most of you into hate mongers.

When you KNOW Hillary is sold out, Lock, Stock, and barrel, then rolling the dice seems like an excellent idea.

Obama is NOT the only candidate other than Hillary running folks!
Take a look at Biden and Dodd for goodness sake! These guys have years of outstanding public service to show us, not just fancy rhetoric-which seems to be all Obama has.

I do not want to hand our lives for the next four years over to another green newcomer!
