This joking news you can misuse, well I am white, but I found it extremely offensive towards blacks. Shame on you! I don't find it a laughing matter at ALL.

this HuffPost piece is a disgrace to Huffington Post. it took a very serious and informative piece of important research by New American Media, the leading professional association of minority media companies in the US, and put it on the HuffPo joke page. not only that, it then added the crudest "humorous" racist commentary in red pen imaginable. i know, we are supposed to get that it is a hip parody, but instead it's just puerile - and ugly.

NAM certainly does not conclude "Asians and Hispanics are acting white." its information is about 100 times more complex than that headline fabrication by HuffPost.

the survey was not "politically correct." it broke those taboos and asked sometimes controversial questions to try to find out real attitudes. we can all draw our own conclusions.

Shame, shame, shame on Huffington Post for this 23/6 travesty.

What does acting white mean?

Tell you what. We'll stop stereotyping when any black male posters come on here and declare that they do not have a large penis. We'll stop stereotyping when black comedians stop making jokes about whites. We'll stop stereotyping when the title of the movie "White Men Can't Jump", is changed. How much of an uproar would there be if George Lucas made a movie called, "Black Men Can't Swim"? Hmm?

We'll stop stereotyping when immigrants from Mexico learn to flush their used toilet paper down the toilet instead of throwing it in the trash can or on the floor. We'll stop stereotyping when Mexican immigrants stop ignoring all the free ESL classes and actually make an honest effort to learn English, as the immigrants of the past century did without benefit of free ESL classes and free medical care.

We'll stop stereotyping when Mexican immigrant co-workers stop treating women in the workplace like crap.

I would have NO problem drinking out of the same cup as, working with, having children with, or living next door to, Will Smith or Carlos Mencia. I DO have problems doing so with "minorities" that do abhorrent things that, if done by other Caucasians, would be considered just as rude, and I would call THEM on it too.

My feeling exactly....this is b.s. journalism (if you can call it journalism). It's also written by an ethno-phobe, mark my words, probably somebody who hates immigrants and anyone who can be described as "ethnic" or outside the mainstream culture. This is trouble-making by a trouble-maker - count on it - the kind of trash writing that should be ignored, or better yet burned.

I know this article is meant to be humor, but it definitely strikes a nerve with regards to race relations today.

As a black individual who has had white, black, latino, and asian best friends (and girlfriends) throughout my entire life, I've found that most of these prejudices and "tensions" are based on ignorance and the lack of understanding between our respective cultures.

Many people would make assumptions about my tastes and my beliefs based on what they saw on television, heard in a rap song, or saw some other black person saying or doing (Jackson and Sharpton, for instance) but once they actually got to know me personally, they began to see that these assumptions were false.

At the root of all of this ignorance is the fear of that which is different, and the inability to accept other human beings as individuals and to treat them accordingly.

Its much the same as assuming all asians know kung fu, all whites can't dance, or all latinos are "illegals" -- at one time it was popular to reduce each "race" or culture to its stereotype (the "drunk indian" or the "crafty jew") but as our society evolves and becomes more integrated, these racial myths will slowly but surely be dispelled simply by virtue or necessity and the growing number of "minorities" in our population who will one day be the "majority".

To this day, I do not accept the fact that just because someone shares the same skin color as I do, they have to share the same opinions or habits -- and I feel that goes for anyone, regardless of color or ethnicity.

Experience has taught me otherwise.

What a moronic article. First of all, Hispanic is NOT a race. I'll repeat, for those who're so prejudiced they can't see with their eyes. There are plenty of Latinos who are black (more than half the population of Cuba), plenty of them who are white, plenty of them who are of mixed race, and a few who are of Asian descent (see Alberto Fujimori, the former President of Peru, for example).
Google Fujimori, Celia Cruz and Carolina Herrera and try to tell me they are the same race.

I know funny, and this ain't it. This is a very offensive and unfunny article. It's a failed attempt at satire and it makes me uncomfortable. 23/6 has crossed the line here, and it shouldn't have appeared on the main page of huffpost. Bad advertising for the 23/6. The article is simple-minded, full of decades-old racist jokes and stereotypes. 23/6 needs to study the art of comedy. Look to the more effective Onion news magazine, a relevant, provocative, and on-the-nose political satire that challenges the reader and stimulates the mind. Go to www.theonion.com and see what I mean. 23/6 should be taken off the main page of huffpost if it's going to be this offensive. Sometimes offensive can be funny. Sometimes funny-offensive satirical writing can work well to bring about greater awareness, stimulate dialogue and point out the hipocrisies and contradictions in the Establishment. This, however, is not one of those times.

I could never understand why American blacks talk like they have a mouthful of shit and British blacks speak very correct and intelligibly.

Having been to Africa and worked there I was astounded to find out African blacks think of American blacks as 'dumb niggers'.

Acting white in America is having a belly so big you can't see your own dick and need Viagra at age 20 and have to drive SUV's because a normal car won't accomodate you.

Being White in America meaning you have to take off your shoes to count to 20.

You know, all this was intended to be humor on the 23/6 site. admittedly it wasn't that funny, except the part about Mexican gangs using machetes. Actually, reading the comments here with all the offended sensibilities and people pointing the "racist" finger was a lot funnier.

I hope we don't use the term "Asians" to include immigrants from China, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Phillipines, Malaysia, Borneo, India and what have you as if they are all one and the same people . They have very different cultures, backgrounds, relgions and upbringings. They have different ideas about everything from politics to education and their impression on America, Americans, black or white and Hispanics are totally different.

I'm always impressed at how "23 / 6" manages to pull off humorous, thought provoking commentary without the thought or the humor.
