Rupert

In a no-holds-barred interview with the UK Independent, movie star Rupert Everett lets loose on some of Hollywood's biggest names. Everett, the break out star of 1997's "My Best Friend's Wedding" and a great friend of Madonna, insulted everyone from Diane Keaton to Al Pacino. But the Brit, who is gay, had the most venom for George Clooney:

"[George] Clooney thinks that, provided he does films which are politically committed, he's allowed to do Ocean's 11, 12, and 13", he says. "But the Ocean's movies are a cancer to world culture. They're destroying us."

And Clooney the man? "He's not the brightest spark on the boulevard. He'll be president one day. Mark my words, if he's straight, he'll be president."

Of the other Hollywood legends at the end of his tongue lashing, Everett told interviewer Amol Rajan:

"De Niro, Redford, Keaton, Allen, Pacino ... They're all just tragic parodies of themselves. Al Pacino looks like a mad old freak now. I say give it a rest, or go and do some serious stuff...

The other day I saw a film called Because I Said So with Diane Keaton, and I thought, 'here's one of the women we loved most in 1970s cinema, debasing and humiliating herself in this load of trash'.

"Why? Because we're sheep, we just follow the herd ... It's just part of the huge amount of product that's put out now that's really bad. And it's our fault. We're all responsible for how the culture is. You can't draw a distinction between the celebrity nonsense on television and the film industry."

Everett will next be seen in a British film "St Trinian's," in which he plays a headmistress who has a very strong resemblance to Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall and wife of Prince Charles.

MEEEEEOOOOWWWW!

Ooooooohhhhh, Rupert, now settle down, girl. You're just jealous because Clooney refused to go out with you. And, jeez, picking on Al Pacino because he's old? What about that old British hag still singing "candle in the wind?" Can you feel the love tonite, Rupert, old girl?

Please, dear. Take your pill and drink a sherry. You're making your hair frizz with all this tedious talk...

Used to see him walking his dog in the West Village; looked irrevocably ordinary. What's made him an expert on movies, hanging out with Madonna or Sandra Bernhardt?
What happened to Redford? He started looking waxy in "Havana". Beatty got that look except now they shoot him thru peach tinted lens. He's looking increasingly embalmed. But they can't stop.

I'm not sure who Rupert Whathisname is, nor do I care, but am pretty sure he could not shine the shoes of either Pacino or DeNero. I don't care what either one of these actors looks like, their body of work, now and then, wouldn't take Rupert as an extra. People age, they look different, that means their talents diminish??? What a stupid article, why is this pissy little brit even getting ink???

I agree with him. Pacino, DeNiro, Keaton, are all parodies of themselves. They were great in their day but they do need to give it a rest. Clooney? Well, why do Oceans ad infinitum any longer. He is better than that and he doesn't need the money. So right on Rupert. Tell it like it is.

Mr Everett is right, Hollywood, the media is so incestuous that it's frightening. All media has a politic to it, even Rupert's speakings - if you react to what he says with venom, then get a brain. There's a whole library out there and yet we get remade comic book drivel.

Something is going on with Rupert and it is not good, he looks just terrible and this odd lashing out at everyone is just... very, very out of character.

Just remember what Michael Caine said, "When you see movie stars/celebs in low-rent trashy films, you know they just took the money & ran as fast as they could."

Rupert apparently left some of his brain when he had his face redone to bow down to the Hollyweird Glitterai. And he should sue the plastic surgeon who ruined him but instead, he's doing this.

Rupert, your plastic surgeon killed your career, not the roles you've been accepting . . .

From someone who is experienced in having his head up someone's ass, it does darken his views.

It's funny how most of you would preach about the free speech etc etc etc, and yet if someone speaks his mind up, you're ready to unload the whole repertoire of insults at the person.

E.g. it is a fact that Al Pacino looks grotesque and his recent movies stink. Is Rupert Everett required to have better movies in his recent CV to have right to say what he said??? Geez

Rupert who?????

Yeah . . . he has so much room to talk with his own stunning resume of movie roles and voice overs! What an ugly, bitter man . . .

He may be annoying, but he's right. Film, music, TV--its mostly crap these days because the decision-making processes of the monopolistic MSM are based purely on financial considerations.

They've even arranged for us to regard first weekend box-office or sweep-week viewership as a legitimate metric for evaluating the quality of the work. Consequently, big stars loan their names to bad projects, the projects make money, and everybody but the end user is happy.

It's true, Rupert. But then not everyone has the timeless, superior acting talent your friend Madonna has.

What was that piece of shit he did with the material girl? That was heinous, unwatchable low culture and a shitty, shitty half-assed movie. He placed that blot on his career for a friend, whom he apparently imagines is the queen of high culture.

Nice 20 year old eyes stuck in a 47 year old face Rupert. There's never been a more ridiculous eye job, except maybe Redford.

Rupert is still on the mend from his recent lobotomy. The incision from left to right can no longer be seen, but it's a couple of inches behind his forehead where his hair has yet to grow. Poor Rupert.

Odd comments coming from someone who isn't especially gifted, can't act, and isn't much of a critic. Someone in Hollywood must have turned him down for a part he wanted. If he has to look all the way across the Atlantic to find actors he doesn't like, he may also suffer from Opticalrectialis.
