Celine Dion called it a wrap at Caesars Palace, acknowledging in her final show that pregnancy and poor early reviews almost sank her titanic five-year engagement.

As adoring fans cheered, stood and clapped through Saturday night's performance, Dion interspersed her usual numbers with emotion-filled monologues.

"At one point, it was like feeling like the Titanic was about to sink again," she said. "But we believed and we went on with it. Even though the vibe was not that positive for us."

While the show was still in development in 2000, Dion, 39, became pregnant and told husband-manager Rene Angelil she did not want to continue.

She not retiring or going away.
they announced a world tour.
they put the world tour on sale.
already.
for dates that are 11 months away.
why? because they use the PR and marketing and advertising of her new album and announce a tour... you want the tickets to the tour now... you pay high prices on your credit card for tickets now... and then, you have tickets for a show in October, November, December of 2008... and all the while, the promoters/artist are holding onto the money you paid in an interest bearing account, making ever MORE money off of the fans.
Brilliant. Skeevy. But brilliant. It ain't about the music or the art, folks.

Eesh, does this mean she's gonna go back to recording and foist her bleating, yelling, and caterwauling on the rest of the world?
I was resting a little easier knowing it was limited to Las Vegas.
