President Bush worked to reassure Americans on Monday about the economy but said "there's definitely some storm clouds and concern" because of the nation's credit crunch and mortgage problems.

"But the underpinning is good," Bush told business and community leaders at a gathering of Rotary Club members.

"We've had a pretty good economic run," the president said in a speech intended to show he is aware of the public's edgy mood these days. Consumer confidence has eroded as turmoil in the housing and credit market have battered the economy.

What an appropriate name for bush's latest speaking venue...the YAK-A-DOO. He speaks doodoo which makes me want to YAK!!! Things must be pretty hard for the presidential schedulers if the best they can do is to have the prez drop in on a local Rotary meeting! I feel sorry for the members who had to put up with him!!!

I like the hand gesture, "rubbing money".

Sure, sure it is. I hear Santa just laid off half of his workforce. The easter Bunny has been foreclosed and the tooth fairy was thrown out the country for being an illegal alien. Cheney had four heart transplants even though he had the same Medical Insurance that the rest have. Rumsfield went to war with the army we wanted to have.......

"We've had a pretty good economic run," the president said.

The operative word is "HAD" and by March everyone will know how "HAD" we all are?

The man is a jabbering idiot.

My job is entirely reactive, not proactive. I do not get paid to make things happen, I get paid to make them happen properly.

Here I sit, at work, fooling around on the internet because business is dead. Last week, we ran the factory two days. The two weeks before that, one day each. In July we were closed for two weeks - not vacation, lack of work.

AND BUSH THINKS THE ECONOMY IS JUST FINE???????
Oh, well, from his perspective, it probably is - he's all buddy-buddy with the military-industrial complex, the merchants of death. Oh, hell yeah, THEY are doing fine!

How would he know?

He's an utter moron who can barely even parrot what his propaganda writers tell him.

just i'll say this what ever the Bush regime says , ALWAYS means exact opposite,so the Bush regime saying the economy is fine means exactly the opposite so were in real trouble recession first ,depression not to far behind, but i think Americans already know that cause we live in the real world ,not fantasyland

Bush is in his own reality bubble as usual. I don't know how he is able to continue through life without having reality come close to him but he does it somehow. We have a recession now so maybe a depression would hit him?

When Bush says don't raise taxes on the American people he means the rich. He has never had a problem taxing the middle class, with that double secret AMT which hit MILLIONS of middle class tax payers because Bush and the Republicans wouldn't raise the outdated thresholds.

Some of Bush's biggest lies are lies of omission, not commission.

"We're making some pretty good progress toward coming up with a fiscally sound budget," Bush said. He said that the next couple of days "will be interesting to watch."

Now you know we're in really deep shit if this moron thinks that his administration has been fiscally sound. War, war, war. Twiddle-dee-dee!
