Democrat Hillary Clinton got visibly emotional at an Iowa campaign event Monday morning designed to showcase a softer side of the New York senator.

Flanked by childhood friends and constituents who each offered testimonials on the Democratic presidential candidate, a glassy-eyed Clinton spoke noticeably softer than most past appearances on the stump.

500 Comments! Wow. Stuff on the greenhouse effect rarely goes on to the second page.

In fairness to HRC (who I am NOT supporting in this primary campaign) politics is LARGELY staged, including crocodile tears from all sides.

I myself know the pretense of bogus 'red headed league' type progressives bending every effort to convince of/enforce on others the notion that they represent AUTHENTIC progressive opposition. And though there may be SOME of that here, it appears that (including myself) most of those opposed to nominating another Clinton Democrat in an election where it may be impossible to even come credibly CLOSE to electing a Repug to the White House are in fact NOT overt or covert rightwingers at all, but disgusted real Democrats and progressives.

More I see all the negativity regarding Hillary, I like her even more. No one combining both the isles have been scrutinized and demonized like Hillary. She always bounces back from that and never shows her hurt and maintains her graciousness !
This is a ruthless world, why people go out of their way to be so kind to people they don`t even know and on the same token be so cruel brutal to one of their own .

We even penalize her for her Husband who had wrongd her in a worse possibe way !

Can you imagine if Obama, Edwards or any of the others were trying to reinvent themselves every other week? I don't know how she's still leading in the national polls. People just don't seem to care that she's a complete phony.

Hillary give up the ACT - you don't fool me or anyone else!! We think it is admirable that you are running for President, but John Edwards, Barack Obama, Chris Dodd and Joe Biden have more "successful experience" in life and government than you do.

I am sick and tired of this Bush, Clinton, Bush and Clinton thing. America needs Change - and it has to come from people OUTSIDE the BELTWAY!!! People who know how to answer simple questions instead of ignoring good questions submitted by excellent reporters.

I still wish you well in the Senate.

Who gives a shit about hillary crocodile tears. She is as phony as they come. She let slick willy do the dirty work on Obama. By the way, I found his comment about Obama to be racist when he stated that , Obama is too young to be president. He is saying, a young black man need to wait his term. These comments are not only meant for Obama, this is what the clintons think about all young black men who wants to follown their dreams. Every black person need to wake up, the clintons don't give a dam about you, they just want your votes. I despise these people. As a black woman, I would never vote for hillary she is a WIMP and a cry baby, how in the hell can she lead this country? She is a weak vessel and is no role model for women. She wants sympathy and pity from women. Yes, I would love to see a female president, but hillary clinton is not the one. Please America, wake up; smell the coffee before it's too late.
Obama is ready to lead. Give him a chance. Ignore that bullshit that bill clinton is pushing about Obama. This is conventional slimy politics; any man that votes for a woman to lead them is a coward, think about it.
Obama 08!

Dodd was showing real LEADERSHIP on the Senate Floor today in which he defended our Constitution and the Rule of Law for over 11 hours.

Meanwhile, Hillary was on the morning talk shows trying to convince people she is a leader.

Well ... when she starts getting teary-eyed over the sweat shops in India producing the street-hole covers for streets of New York City under horrific labor conditions ... then I'll look twice.

Doesn't anybody care what the Clintons have done to fair labor practices? How the hell are they even allowed to run on the Democratic ticket in Yankee territory ... and I don't mean baseball.

Now tell me again about Hillary's support for fair treatment for workers!!! I know she lived in Arkansas for awhile, but isn't she the U.S. Senator from New York? And isn't New York City in New York?

The traffic on this is unbelievable. It has obviously hit a raw nerve on both sides which gets us back to the regrettable yet undeniable conclusion that she does create a lot of energy on both sides. Her persona is divisive even if she has the best of intentions. It is a shame really, as she might well be the nominee, and we will again see a servant of the corpratocracy innaugurated as the 44th President of the United States. I don't believe she can win, and I resent the implication that some make, that because we haven't closed ranks around her, that it is somehow our fault.

John Edwards was criticized for tipping a hair stylist too well. And we have heard about it ever since it happened. Mrs. Clinton forgot to tip a waitress and we heard about it for a day or two. Neither is worthy of any print actually, but the idea that Hillary has been held to a higher standard is patently absurd.

Mrs. Clinton needs to start talking policies, and stop "scoring points" if she ever intends to win over those of us on the liberal end of the Democratic party spectrum. And if she thinks she can win without us, she is sadly mistaken.

I really believe that the vulnerable, sweet and kind side of Mrs. Clinton must emerge, if it is real, and if it does, she may have a chance.

Doesn't the Reverend Obama give you crazies the night off?

You are wacko if you think that empty suit Obama is going to do anything more than appeal to the UBER Libs..... especially all those upper class white folk who think they look sooo progressive embracing a sure loser....

He is a empty suit, an untested promise, he is a speech maker... super!

all the nasty you spew about Hillary they spewed about Gore 7 years ago and we ended up with that likable and flawed cowboy.... doesn't matter he doesn't have foreign policy experience, he's a good guy, he will restore honor to the white house.... he'll surround himself with good people.... heard this song before???

Get over yourselves and realize what you are doing -- Obama could't take a day in this womans shoes, not a day of the crap she has to deal with

Take your millionaire junkie junior senator from Illinois and let him blow hope all your skirt all you want
