There are few media formulations more loathsome than the phrase "national security Democrat," and I just want to go on record sharing Atrios' annoyance with the fact that top Hillary supporter Richard Holbrooke feels compelled to define her in these terms:

"She is probably more assertive and willing to use force than her husband," says Richard Holbrooke, the former envoy for Bill Clinton. "Hillary Clinton is a classic national-security Democrat. She is better at framing national-security issues for the current era than her husband was at a common point in his career."

For national security, it is better that the enemy thinks our President is willing to use force, than not. Hillary is positioning herself to appear strong and it will help us in negotiations with the enemy who ever that may be. Peace in strength, not like Bush who REALLY would attack with out a clear reason.
I do not want the rest of the world to think we are weak. Do you? Oh Obama! He would NEVER use force? Is that what you are saying?

It's for reasons like this I'm moving away from the Senator. I have been a big supporter of Clintons until recently. She really turned me off when she acted like she had the nomination wrapped up and that was only a few weeks ago. How time changes things.
I'm not sure if it's the bickering back and forth between Hillary and Barack, but I'm already so tired of them, I almost dont want either one elected. Now, if Edwards just spoke better English!

What the F is "a classic national security democrat"? He just invented that. And in so doing, he designates all not-Hillary Democrats "not for national security." I'll go along, cuz national security IS Doublespeak and Newsspeak anyway. Its real definition is "WACKO and PROUD OF IT". It means "AMERICA...FUCK YEAH!"
