Jim Cramer: Mad No More?

After years of manic rants and crazy antics on live TV, you might think Jim Cramer's shock value has worn off.

How about this for a new surprise? Jim Cramer, sober-minded personal finance guru.

It creates some contradictions. The hyperactive stockpicker on CNBC's Mad Money has a new book out advising most readers not to buy individual stocks at all. The man who says colleagues called him "Reverend Jim Bob Cramer of the Church of What's Happening Now" is now patiently investing his charitable trust for the long term.

I'll tell you what not to buy, and that is Cramer's book.

"Gross wants a bail-out of his funds. Cramer wants a bail-out of his billionaire hedge fund buddies (and maybe himself). Cramer is easily the smarmiest of the bunch but still the most honest of the three, because he understands that any bail-out is a gift to Wall Street, not to those Americans who have been swindled into taking on mortgages that Kirsten Keefe, founding director of Americans For Fairness in Lending, correctly points out were "designed to fail."

Cramer,
"Open the darn Fed window.

"He has no idea what its like out there - None!"

"They [the Fed] know nothing. The Fed is asleep."

"My people have been in this game for 25 years . . . They are losing their jobs -- these firms are going out business"

"[President of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis] Bill Poole is shameful"

"Cut the rate. Relieve the pressure"

"In the fixed income markets we have Armageddon."

I used to think that he actually had some good ideas. But now I'm not so sure.

I saw him on "Meet the Press", and it was the stupidest "interview" ever. Could Cramer and Russert make it anymore obvious that they work for G.E.? It was like the Tonight Show. Also, he advises people to not buy individual stocks? If that's true, then it seems like very ironic advice. Coming from a guy who made megamillions doing just that. I did it and I'm set for life. And screw the rest of you. Nice job, Jim.

Cramer is an advocate of federal intervention and support. He goes to great lengths to fit this in with 'free market' dogma but sounds like an idiot every time he tries.

Cramer has a very unique way of delivering his message.
He can be very annoying, but he is usually right..

Listen to this 7 minute interview with Ron Paul.
I think it is the best interview he has done.

I find it strange this article did not even mention the interview of the decade.

I have never once seen this Cramer guy when he did not come off as a giant, stinking, asshole. I guess it's his way of trying to get attention (and sell whatever the fuck he's selling), but he has the opposite affect on me -- I just want to change the channel as fast as possible.

Hey, Jim! The stock market is just another form of gambling. Get over yourself! A chicken or monkey could pick stocks better than you. And it's been scientifically proven that they have!

Don't cry, tho. I hear that the Cheney/Bush regime is always looking for more asskissers.
