Limbaugh: "Does Our Looks-Obsessed Culture Want to Stare At An Aging Woman?"

Today, the Drudge Report featured a not-so-flattering picture of Hillary Clinton with the screaming headline "THE TOLL OF A CAMPAIGN." Clinton, who turned 60 in October, has been traveling around Iowa and this morning hit up all six morning shows as part of a media blitz now that her campaign there has entered panic mode.

On his radio show today, Rush Limbaugh asked, "Does our looks obsessed culture want to stare at an aging woman?" In his own words:

There is this thing in this country that, as you age -- and this is particularly, you know, women are hardest hit on this, and particularly in Hollywood -- America loses interest in you, and we know this is true because we constantly hear from aging actresses, who lament that they can't get decent roles anymore, other than in supporting roles that will not lead to any direct impact, yay or nay, in the box office. While Hollywood box-office receipts may be stagnant, none of that changes the fact that this is a country obsessed with appearance. It's a country obsessed with looks. The number of people in public life who appear on television or on the big screen, who are content to be who they are, you can probably count on one hand. Everybody's trying to make themselves look different -- and in that situation, in that case, they think they're making themselves look better. It's just the way our culture has evolved. It's the way the country is. It's like almost an addiction that some people have to what I call the perfection that Hollywood presents of successful, beautiful, fun-loving people. So the question is this: Will this country want to actually watch a woman get older before their eyes on a daily basis?

Unfortunately, Limbaugh is right about the motives of many people in this country in regard to why they will not vote for Hillary Clinton in particular and women in general. What makes Limbaugh especially hateful and reprehensible is that he will encourage this sexist viewpoint.

Yet another reason for Americans to be ashamed of themselves. We are a nation dominated by anti-intellectual, racist, homophobic, religious fanatics who would rather destroy the rest of the world than accept it. A nation where Limbaugh can be a multimillionaire and Bush can be President is beneath contempt.

And then you all get high and mighty if he makes a similar shallow comment about one of your own.

I seem to recall that Limbaugh was a serious drug addict, hooked on some form of oxycodone. Having never been hooked on opiates or booze, I can only guess that it is like being an alcoholic; "once a drunk, always a drunk." Never trust a junkie, I say!

These true narcotics have been used throughout history to treat everything from severe pain to diarrhea, and a major side effect of all opiates is severe constipation. It might therefore be said that Rush was, at least for a time, literally as well as figuratively full of shit.

I honestly don't care what the leader of this country looks like; I'm more concerned that it returns to being a free country, not the warmongering, Dark Ages Theocracy into which it is deteriorating. All I need to see is the new president swear to uphold and defend the constitution and then actually keep her or his word.

This proves the GOP wants to run against her. It's obviously designed to get sympathy from the Democratic base. No self-respecting Democrat could feel anything but outrage to have one of our women verbally RAPED by this PIG.

You know what is sad, is that this is an example similar to the Clinton dirty tricks on Obama. Personal petty attacks like this say more about the character of the people spouting the venom than those who are the subjects. Hopefully, the Clinton's will see the errors of their ways and stop attacking Obama and go after the republicans!
