After weeks of bad news, Hillary Clinton and her strategists hoped that winning the endorsement of Iowa's largest newspaper last weekend might produce a modest bump in their media coverage.

But on Sunday morning, they awoke to upbeat headlines about their chief Democratic rival: "Obama Showing New Confidence With Iowa Sprint," said the New York Times. "Obama Is Hitting His Stride in Iowa," said the Los Angeles Times. And on Monday, Clinton aides were so upset about a contentious "Today" show interview that one complained to the show's producer.

I agree. Obama has been scrutinized more than any Democratic presidential candidate. Where are the attacks on Edwards' experience? Obama has more experience than HE does! Why isn't this a main issue in his campaign? Even the Clintons, both Hillary and Bill, seem to only hone in on Obama's experience.

Obama has to work ten times as hard than his counterparts. Some people don't want to admit to their prejudices and racist attitudes; they want to come up with excuse after excuse not to vote for the man and disguise it up with blah, blah bullsh*t reasons, explanations and pure ignorance. It's all code for 'I don't care how intelligent and 'articulate' he is and what he can do for our country, even if it's for the best! I ain't ever gonna vote for no black man'. America, get over yourself!

The absolute fact is that Clinton has been given a much harder time than Obama in the press and in the media. The run-of-the-mill white man's gender biased stereotyping of Clinton is routinely openly tolerated in our culture, by both sexes. The equivalent type of characterizations couched in racial terms would rightly be vilified. But do not be fooled into thinking that these insecure, psychologically fragile, castration fearing, white men who attack Hillary are not also using the most vile racist terms in their descriptions of Obama. That racist behavior is reserved for the behind closed doors white mans club and only occasionally leaks out. For example that complete racist Imus who was equally comfortable lambasting Hillary as a "bitch" and black women as "nappy headed ho's". You get my point.

Next time you get the impulse to assault Hillary with the typical gender stereotyping tripe think of yourself as Micheal Richards jumping up and down and letting the "N" word fly. There is no difference.

no candidate more scrutinized than Barack??

heelarious - this empty suit has been handled with more kid gloves that Jamie Lynn Spears. Fear of being percieved as racist for any critism has stiffled most along with their money hungry desire for ratings to prolong the race and put a sure fire LOSER like Barack in te nomination

Have to say that Obama is holding up to scrutiny pretty darn well.... still don't know if I would vote for him but I sure as hell won't vote for Hillary.
It would be like voting for Nancy Pelosi. We would get more of the same. Hillary represents establishment politics. Voted for the war, voted for the Patriot Act, supports torture and secret prisons and warrantless wiretapping, not a peep about challenging the current adminstration and holding them accountable.... nope, won't vote for her.

Obama has his share of being toyed with in the media as the following two news items demonstrate:

Obama, today, took the reasonable position that our children's health should not be toyed with -- that poisoning them with lead-infused Chinese trinkets should be stopped. Granted, taking toys from children, especially on the eve of Christmas, may be viewed as a political gamble to some.

While Obama was safeguarding our children, the New York Times busied itself with toys of its own -- statistics about Obama's voting "present ... nearly 130 times" while in the Illinois Senate where he cast some "4000" votes in total. The breaking news headlines in the NYT's: "Obama's Vote in Illinois Was Often Just 'Present.'"

Now, if one takes the toying from the title and the statistics, the percentage of his "often" "Present" vote is a mere 3.25 % -- what I would call statistically insignificant and well within the margin of error -- counting the "nearly," suggesting less than, 130 such votes cast out of some (plus or minus) 4000.

When it comes to statistics and titles, toys are not just for tots.

"Obama Spokesman: No Candidate More Scrutinized Than Barack"

LOL, that's why Clinton has been getting nothing but negative press for more than a month? And why people can't even pay a compliment to obama without having their balls kicked by the media?

For starters, it was the press who named her
the "inevitable" one. I went to the site:
http://attacktimeline.com and I saw Moyers. First, Obama and Edwards went negative for
months, without response from Clinton. Obama
was urged by some in the MSM, nearly coached
"how to" take Clinton on, bring her down! When
she finally responded, she's negative and the
press is all over her for showing some teeth
-v- " the fresh face"! Ridiculous. MSM is shaping voters perceptions and choosing what
will be reported. The story that Obama is FOR
giving driver's licenses: died, after the debate when he garbled his response. Recently,
in Iowa, ABCnews.com had a story about an Obama
"plant" that asked him a question. How much
coverage did that get? It serves none of us
to have coverage that concentrates on the daily
horserace, colored by sexism, racism, ageism or
or elements of bigotry. We've heard new expres-
sions such as: women of needs - well, who the hell are they? That "gem" came came from Matthews @ msnbc. Think for yourselves! Fact
check and let's keep in mind that together we
will WIN!

Ha, Ha, Ha!

Victim Clinton?? Where have we heard this before? Remember the right-wing consiparacy of the 1990s? Now are we going to hear the left-wing consipracy and media-consiparacy of 2007

Please do everybody a favor and STOP PLAYING THE VICTIM EACH TIME HILLARY IS CHALLENGED ON POLICY !!!!!!!!

If it was not serious, it would be laughable that the Clinton campaign that has received the most favorable coverage and bull-dozed reporters now claims it is receiving un-fair coverage.

Which other campaign has "killed" stories or even refused to give access to their candidate unless the campaign chooses to dominate all the shows at one time?

Which other campaign got a network to ask soft-ball questions to their candidate (Diamonds or Pearls Debate)?

Which other campaign got a full network and its audience to boo other candidates at a party-sanctioned campaign while the anchors looked on without attempting to stop it.

Personally, I have to congratulate other candidates who have run David-like campaigns against Goliath.

I have never seen a candidate feeling so entitled to the nomination.

Clintons stop whinning and playing victims.

You have to earn the nomination, it will not be just handed to you because this is not a coronation.

I'm just hoping that, while you Clinton and Obama supporters dig each other's eyes out, a real candidate breaks out of the pack below them to capture the nomination.

I'd take any Dem currently running over either.

With legitimate candidate like Biden, Dodd, Edwards, Kucinich, Richardson and Gravel in this race (it's true, they are), and getting just a smattering of the press lavished on the two candidates discussed here, seems to me neither Clinton or Obama have much to complain about.

The media (including the Huffington Post) is soooo slanted against Hillary and Obama skates free.... with no experience floating in the wind.

They always try to take down the front runner and Madame Hillary Clinton is still the front runner.
