Enquirer Edwards

The National Enquirer has gone political in their most recent issue, alleging that John Edwards has fathered a love-child with a filmmaker who once worked on a series of webisodes for his One America Committee. Rumors of the affair between Edwards and the filmmaker, a 43-year-old divorcee named Rielle Hunter, have been denied by both parties.

Now, as the Enquirer has published photos of a clearly pregnant Hunter, she has gone on the record confirming that she is pregnant but denying that Edwards is the father. She claims that the biological father is Edwards operative Andrew Young, a married man who confirms both his extramarital affair with Hunter and that the baby is his. Hunter, who lived in New York, has recently relocated to a gated community in North Carolina near Young and his family. But, the Enquirer claims that Hunter is privately telling friends that Edwards fathered the baby.

John Edwards is not that stupid to start with, I am not an edwards supporter but have met him on several occasions, I tihnk he is a very decent honorable man and if something like this were true he would not deny it.

This is kind of sad and pitiful and I think hurtful to the Edards family.

STOP RUNNING UNCONFIRMED RUMORS, HUFFPO! Both parties deny the story and the real father says he is the father.

No story.

Man, I am going to take another break from this site. You guys make me sad with this garbage.

I can't believe that there is not a enough real news and commentary out there that HP has to resort to this kind of trash. I really thought it was beneath the dignity of this website!

What is disturbing is that the Huffington Post is running a story that is unfounded tabloid nonsense. I read recently that Young's attorney has admitted that Young is indeed the father. Young would have denied the story if it were untrue.

This story came out before and has been debunked. What gives with Huffington? Are they complicit in the smear?

As an Iowa caucus goer and a precinct caucus chair, I find this offensive, and I think this will possibly backfire against certain other candidates who've begun attacking Edwards. Iowans particularly dislike dirty politics.

Shame on Huffington for repeating baseless lies.

BOTH parties DENY this "love child" story. So, why is this a story? Let's move on to the issues at hand.

Why are questions about one candidate's drug use called a personal attack and rumors (possibly from another candidate?) against Edwards promoted on Huffpo. I don't get the double standard.

Both parties involved say this is not true and the declared married father by the pregnant mother says he is the father and is guilty of the affair.

Does anyone out there believe a married man would come out and say he was the father of this child and ruin his marriage or shame his wife if this were not true?

Just another political sleeze job!

This comes out now when Edwards in the polls has been creeping up and shows in polls he is the most electable Dem candidate to win against GOP front runners.

If this is linked back to the Clinton campaign they are no better than Bush and his push poll against McCain in SC in 2000.

If this is true, Edwards may turnout to be this year's Bill Clinton and actually win the primaries. American's love unfaithful husbands for presidents!

So the writers from the Weekly world News have moved over to the Enquirer. What's the story?

Thus far, this "story" has done nothing more than provide masturbation material for the likes of Ramirez, rwe and lindamart60.

God bless our troops, the phony ones, especially.
