Neocon Purge At Time With Kristol, Krauthammer Out

New York Observer:

Two conservative Time magazine columnists are on their way out the door: Neither William Kristol nor longtime contributor Charles Krauthammer will be on contract with the magazine starting next month. Mr. Krauthammer confirmed the news to Off the Record, and a spokeswoman for Time said Mr. Kristol's contract would not be renewed.

And according to two sources familiar with the discussions, Time is in negotiations with National Review editor Ramesh Ponnuru to sign him to a contributor contract. Mr. Ponnuru, who in 2006 published The Party of Death: The Democrats, the Media, the Courts, and the Disregard for Human Life, has written twice for the magazine over the past month.

So Kristol and Krauthamer are going to slither away to an undisclosed think tank to continue to slant the political discussion to their warped world view. In the meantime, Time will bring in a more "reasonable" voice to continue to spread corporate misinformation in their places. I don't have any use for Time, Newsweek or any of the other rags under their corporate umbrella. If you want to find out what's happening in this country look overseas.

These two idiots are never right about anything. They defend the neocons and Bu$hCo at every opportunity, despite how awful the performances are, and how great the hypocrisy & lies.

They should be forced to work minimum wage with no benefits at Wal-Mart for awhile, and find out how great the "neoconopia" they are partially responsible for is going. Those service industry jobs are WOOONNNDEEERRRRFFUUULLL.

I often think that the justifiers of entrenched interests such as Kraut & Kris exist to deflect anger, resentment, thoughts of real change, away from actual powers that own much of the world and use these careerist opinionators as dummy targets for the hoi polloi.

I suspect as the printed news becomes less and less popular,Slime and NewsWeak are looking to shore up any percieved credibility they have left.

I cant be they only one that has noticed that when Fox has it's Sunday morning circle jerk,That Krauthammer makes predictions that are always wrong and Kristol is just the public face of the Warprofiting Scum lobby

Little by little the Rats are leaving the sinking ship,at the white house,Capital Hill and now some of the media is cutting bait too

I have to say I've been a fan of Krauthammer's talent at writing. (Even more considering his training was as a doctor)

However, it doesn't make up for serious lapses in logic. Whenever I read him, I agree, agree, agree...and then, WHAT?!

Arguments contorted at the end to fit his point.

They're going to can the Kraut and the Kristol...and then replace them with someone who wrote "The Party of Death: The Democrats?" Do they think that is Progress?

What is it that Time and Newsweek don't understand about the 75-25 Dem-Repub Split? The 2006 election established a political direction that is not likely to change for a very long time. And, its not just us Americans...The entire WORLD is Sick to death of the US's so called "Conservative Republicans."

My wife's subscription to Newsweek runs out in January. "We're" going to let it expire. We haven't taken Time for many years so that isn't an issue. I get most of my coverage nowadays from the Internet, Rolling Stone, Atlantic Monthly, Keith Olberman, The Nation...and that's about it. My local newspaper is Right Wing, and they also own the local Talk Station, so I take neither one.

America will be re-inventing herself over the next fifty years, or so, and when we wake back up there won't be anything but the history books to let us know that there ever was a Republican Party. I'm going to help make that happen; its the least I can do for my grandkids.
