Campaign AdWatch: McCain's Christmas Message, Now 50% More Crucifixiony!

Hey America! Have you opened your Christmas card from John McCain, yet? If not, then: SPOILER ALERT! McCain's message to the nation this Christmas is basically, "Oh, hi! Say, did you ever spend a Christmas getting tortured by the Viet Cong? No? Wow, must be nice!" Then he totally burns Mike Huckabee by saying, "I'll see your subliminal floating bookcase cross and raise you an actual cross, drawn in the dirt."

The best thing about all this religiosity in the campaign ads this season, is that even if the Bush administration orders the C.I.A. to destroy the tapes of the crucifixion, all these candidates will be around to keep reminding us about it. Merry Christmas!

"When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross."

Just good to keep that in mind I think.

Full declaration: I'm a Richardson volonteer. I have no dog in the the hunt: Republican primaries.
But when I see defamation and spin at work I speak. John has been telling this story since he returned. Your article is as mean spirited as the actions of the supporters of Shrub in 2000. They reviled him with lies. Just because you aren't lieing doesn't mean you aren't spreading misinformation and distorting his personal history. You are scraping whale excrement from the sea floor. This is a low-life act of vengance. It is inappropriate. It is gutter politics and should be beneath your dignity - but, obviously isn't.
Get a life. Grow UP!!!!!!

A blessed Christmas AND happy holidays! That McCain - he just knows how to appeal to everyone, doesn't he? Gag me!

No vote for you, McCain. I'm sure someone had to tell you to put both greetings out there for our consumption and that means you are just not smart enough to be the prez. We've had to withstand someone too much like you already for almost 8 years. So give it up, John. Even most GOPers don't want you.

John McCain, being the cloaked neoconservative he is, will throw his support behind Huckabee very soon.
They are one with god, now!~

That's not a cross, it's an 'X' marking where McCain's chances at being president are to be buried.

In the GOP presidential candidates contest to best exploit Repub voters by using Jesus and religion to win an election, McCain gets the Christian Leader Award hands down. Huck had it going for a while but McCain aced him. Religion and politics don't mix for a lot of reasons. In this contest, mixing religion and politics is disgustingly distasteful.

The only true sign for me is when he draws the sign of the fish in the sand! Then I will know, he's the one.

"cross my forhead, cross my knees I'l take any good sign I'm a clay pigeon!
Nobody needs to baptize me, anytime I laugh I got religion' (lyrics from some song)

Hey...tell me when Jesus became a US citizen and a registered voter. No? Then keep him the hell out of politics.

I dont think the crucifixion cross is a proper symbol for Christmas since it is about the death of Christ and not his birth. THE symbol for Christmas is the Manger or the Star of the East, or Joseph and Mary, etc. In fact, using the crucifix for Christmas shows the lack of understanding of Christ's life and the willingness to confuse the issue. What does this show about McCain's understanding of Christmas? Not much.
