While it's good that they try to keep this in the MSM, the fact that it's two actors doing it is hurting them at the same time they're talking. I saw them on CNN before they went to China, Africa and the UK re: Darfur. And Cheadle made a great point. The Chinese said, this is the best you can do from the United States? Just two actors?
Until there are more heavyweight people involved it's going to be the same thing.
What nobody ever seems to mention about the horrible tragedy in Darfur is that the genocide is being commited by radial Muslims.
I wonder why?
celebrities always talk about shit nobody can do anything about. how about talking about 9/11 Truth instead?
what exactly is Clooney proposing be done? because, you know, just talking about Darfur does not bring anyone closer to a solution.
some (bad) solutions:
1. declare war on the government of Sudan
2. create a gigantic magnet that goes around Sudan grabbing all the guns
3. invest in factories and schools and oil production to create the basis of a real economy (oh wait, China is sort of doing that already)
What Clooney said in Rome is really important regarding the presence of countries such as China (and I would add the US) in Darfur and elsewhere in the world, who add to and ignore the human rights abuses and deaths, rapes, extreme suffering of people all for the pursuit of oil. He is saying we have a chance with both the upcoming Olympics in China as well as the next US presidential elections to make this a serious issue. One third of China's oil comes from Sudan!!! It is vital that they not be allowed to stop UN helicopters from coming to the aid of those whose lives are at stake!!!!!
