Jessica Bendinger, the writer of hit movies including "Bring it On" and "Stick It," has joined with fellow writers to launch a series of YouTube videos and a website called aworkingwriter.com. The series also includes video interview with writers such as Michael Seitzman ("North Country) and Jack Kenny ("The Book of Daniel").

Below, Jessica discusses the struggles writers face, how she, in particular, is living off residuals from movies she's done in the past, and how she has no accounting for downloads of "Stick It," which was the number one downloaded movie on iTunes for seven straight weeks:

Jessica's video is just one of dozens to be included in the project and rolled out over the next several days. For more information on the campaign or to see more video interviews, go to aworkingwriter.com.

Oh, the writer for the *movie* "Bring It On". I though maybe it was the retarded speech writer working for Bush.

I agree with the writers. If the money for your work is going to someone else's profits when the studios have been paying residuals on everything else, the studios should not be able to pocket those residuals for themselves for simply moving it to a different medium.

TV is nothing more than a prescription drug billboard.

Hopefully, the creative writers will find new, better outlets.

Is there strike? We never missed you honey. Heck this might clean up TV if they start running shows from 30 years ago when writers really were very good and the could tell a great story without Liberal profanities and titillation.

Maybe if this keeps up we'll end up seeing
more Indie movie nights at the local theaters...? All things are possible, I guess...
what can a movie camera possibly cost?

What can I say? I'm a lonely writer that strains his brain.

STICK IT TOO EM.

(In the long run, they will lose.)
