For years, Rod Blagojevich has projected two distinct images that define his tenure as Illinois' governor.

In one, he is a populist champion with an agenda of "putting people first" by pushing causes like health care for all. In the other, he is a consummate politician with cronies who offer advice while raising campaign cash and asking for favors.

This is Illinois. The "fix" is always in! An Illinois Governor under investigation is just another Illinois Governor.

I don't know the facts, but what I don't understand is why politicians stoop so low as to do criminal activity when they know there is always a way to find out what goes on.

I mean there is a reason why it's called PUBLIC OFFICE!

That's "siege," not "seige."

Well there hasnt been to many Governors from Illinois who havent gone to jail after their terms were up. I think there was a break for a couple terms, but its been pretty consistent over the years. To Bad DC doesnt have the record of putting away corrupt leaders like Illinois does. Maybe then these Aholes sitting on their golden thrones treating the citizens like their personal serfs would come back to earth and act human again. But alas, I dare to wish for justice in the nations capital. How foolish of me.

Those damned Dems... they never learn. Only Repugs get away with things like this.. regardless how much they might admire the Reeps ability to amass large amounts of money and the influence that comes with it, they (the dems) lack the finesse to get away with it. Must be a lack of practice. Heaven knows Reps are into it 24/7.
Shame on them.

Oddly enough, the headline and the snippet fail to note Blago's party affiliation. (Democrat, of course).

Note also this:

~~~one of his biggest fundraisers, Antoin "Tony" Rezko, goes to trial in February on charges he tried to trade his access to Blagojevich for kickbacks and contributions to the governor's campaign fund.~~~
Guess who else is linked to Rezko: none other than Barack Obama. See the articles in the sidebar.
And, Blago is also a strong supporter of illegal immigration:
He even named a group headed by someone linked to the Mexican government to a state panel:
But, at least his driveway is snow free:
Not one time in the article did they mention that the governor is a Democrat. You just know if he were a Republican, they would mention it at the start of every paragraph.
Don't you just love the double standard in the media?
