Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) and former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards traded unexpectedly bitter attacks Saturday over plans by a group linked to Edwards to air television advertising on his behalf.

Obama accused his rival for the Democratic nomination of hypocrisy after a labor-backed group known as a 527 prepared to launch pro-Edwards television advertising across Iowa.

Shame on Obama for attacking Edwards!
Shame, shame, shame! You have no right to call yourself a "progressive candidate." From his support for globalization, to his lack of support for unionized workers, from his support of nuclear power and liquid coal to his "present" vote on rights for sex abuse victims--he's an unmititgated opportunist. Edwards has too much class to call him out.
The real tough guy is the one who went to public school and didn't come from privilege--John Edwards.

Let me fix that headline:

"Labor Groups Boost Edwards, Obama Attacks"

It's too bad we don't have Instant Runoff Voting in the primaries. I think that most Obama voters would pick Edwards as number two, and Edwards voters would pick either Obama or Kucinich as number two. I don't think Clinton DLC-style politics are as popular as more progressive politics this year.

And it's such a waste of time for good candidates to slam at each other this way. It's another negative by-product of the current winner-take-all system that doesn't account for people's real priorities.

If I understand correctly, the Iowa Caucus does have a ranking system. I'm really curious to see how that turns out.

This kind of crap is becoming more and more typical of Obama.

Last summer, I was really excited about an Obama presidency. In fact, I'd kindda been hoping he'd run since his dynamic speech at the Democratic convention.

But he's disappointed me over and over again. Instead of being the people's candidate, he's decided to disingenuously attack him. This latest fabrication is just the next effort to ensure that people ignore Edwards' message and focus on some non-issue.

I've become convinced in the past couple of weeks that Obama is as bad as Clinton. Another cynically-motivated career politician. It's too bad, because he could represent SO much more.

Over the past couple of months I've become more and more impressed with Edwards and his message. This is a guy to whom I originally gave no serious attention. But he's got it right - the system is broken and it's time for some serious change. I believe he's the right guy to get it done.

It's just a few days before the election season starts. Pay attention to the true message these candidates are delivering. Don't believe all the media hoopla or fall for the cynical manipulation of the Clinton/Obama garbage. Vote for the person who truly represents you. Candidates like Edwards, Biden, Dodd and Kucinich all have much more to offer.

Desperation of Obama is getting obvious as the caucus of Iowa is drawing to a close. There are two states that will decide the fate of his nomination, Iowa and New Hampshire. He lost either one of them, he's toast. On thanksgiving when Obama was in NH, people walked out as soon as he start talking, although he beg his audience to stay around as he was ready to answer their questions, the people slowly leave his forum. Majority of the people in the media did not report it, we can make a conclusion they're protecting the image of Obama that has been projected for many months like a rock star.

Now he's going after John Edwards because union members made a decision to put an AD campaign for Edwards using their own money. This just goes to show, Obama is not attracting ordinary working man to support his agenda, but he's attracting a lot of college student totally in awe with his rhetoric.

Obama should send e-mail again to his supporters for campaign contribution. Obama is still a boy, he need some growing up to do, he's a GREENHORN not counting the fact he's an EMPTY SUIT!

As Michelle Obama said Barack is LAZY. Damn! I don't want a LAZY ass President!

It is obscene that candidates think they need to spend $10 to 20million to win the Iowa caucus. IE: about 185,000 voters! The "frontrunners" have done nothing wrong-- it's the system,

Public funding and/or spending caps would make
the playing field look very, very different.

Biden has fought for campaign spending reform for years. Got shot down. He has protected his Senate office from corporate and special interests for 34 years, has never had a conversation with a lobbyist. Now that's clean.

Richardson, Dodd, Kucinich as well have more to offer than the "frontrunners". Why are the candidates with the thinnest resumes "in front"?

Follow the money.

John Edwrds conceded the nomination when he decided to accept matching funds. Win Iowa and Edwards can"t raise the money for Feb 5th, if Edwards was so confident, why didn"t he wait for the Iowa results to boost his campaign coffers, now he looses either way the election goes.

Hey John, you spent two years campaigning in Iowa to get your numbers to where they are, now you will have 3 weeks to campaign in states 10 times as large, California, Texas, etc. Do you plan on going door to door as you did in Iowa ,John Edwards? The reason why the Edwards strategy failed is this, all the big states moved their primaries up, Edwards had planned on Iowa boosting him and raising the required moneys later, his plans all fell through. In addition he did not calculate that Obama could raise the kind of money he raised, reason two why the John Edwards strategy failed. Now John Edwards could only be content with being the Ralph Nader of these Democratic primaries.

Why are you Obama fans getting your pantys all bunched up? Just relax and take a few deep breaths, because you really do not need to worry. Obama has already said he would install a republican cabinet. Meaning he already has everything that he needs to stay the course already established by GW Bush. Hell, Obama will not even have to vote "PRESENT" anymore. Now go on and have yourselves a merry little christmas.

Obama and Edwards deserve each other.

Two pretenders, especially Obama.

Edwards' backers may be naive, but Obama's backers are trying to live in a Fairy tale with Obama as Peter Pan.

I guess Oprah is Twinkle Bell

If Obama is afraid of 527 now, imagine if he is nominee of Democratic party, RepugThugs will eat him alive in the election... Remember they swiftboated, Kerry, Maccain & the Democratic Governor in Georgia who lost 3 limbs in a war ..
Dont complain 527 will be used ..but make a case for yourself ..
I still think Democratic party need to get a tuough nominee who can fight with these SOB RepugThugs in the general election ...Dont be nice or Democrtas will never win ..

When I posted a negative comment on Senator Clinton nit went through without a hitch. When I did the same for Senator Obama, it was stopped, pending review. Let's see what happens to this one.
Senator Obama was one of the "paymasters" for the war in Iraq. He should not become our next president or vice-president for that reason.
