For three decades, the Republican presidential nominating contest has served to unify the national party's coalition of social, economic and foreign policy conservatives in advance of a general election fight with Democrats.

This year, it is ripping that coalition apart.

The G.O.P. is a broken tool. The murderous cretins who broke it are still strong and still in control. They have other tools. The crime wave will continue apace.

"Our only political party has two right wings, one called Republican, the other Democratic. But Henry Adams figured all that out back in the 1890s. 'We have a single system,' he wrote, and 'in that system the only question is the price at which the proletariat is to be bought and sold, the bread and circuses.'" : Gore Vidal - The Decline and Fall of the American Empire

I'm shocked. Not pushing a particular candidate, but to utterly dismiss a candidate who is out fund-raising competitors and whose base seems to be growing daily is as bad as yellow journalism.

Anyway, I'm saddened by the state of the GOP. The current president and his administration have only ever represented a very small (if very vocal) part of the Republican Party, and have in two terms perhaps damaged the party forever. Hell, since Reagan's administration (and yes, including Reagan's administration), the GOP has been spiraling the drain and causing traditional (think Goldwater) Republicans to throw their hands up and say "I quit!" If this current crop of GOP candidates, bar one (and he could be better), is the best the GOP can produce, I can't blame them for quitting.

Then again, I don't see much good coming from electing anyone from the other side of this despicable two-party monstrosity, either. I'm debating whether or not votes can change this country at all, anymore.

It is not about Democrats and Republicans. It is not about Muslims and Christians and Hindus and Budhists.

It is about what you do in this life.

It is about leaving the world a better place than our parents gave us, and about teaching our children to make it a better place for their children.

THAT IS ALL THERE IS TO MORALITY. NOTHING ELSE.

That is our sole purpose.

There is no heaven or hell and there is no life to live after we die. This is it.

Do something.

Something little is fine.

Do something to make it better for our children.

Peace and justice for all.

That is the goal.

I have a friend, a life long Republican.

Just before the Iraq war started, we had a discussion. He was all for the war and told me what it was all about. It went like this:

Him:'"Pup pup pup pup pub blah blah Hitler pup pup Saddam blah blah Clinton pup pup Terrorists blah Hitler blah nuclear blah blah freedom pup pup pup Hitler blah blah blah"

Me: "It's about oil."

Him" "Islamofascist pup pub blah blah gassing Kurds pup pup jihadist blah Hitler blah nuclear blah blah freedom pup pup Hitler pup pup Saddam."

Me: "It's about oil"

And so on.

I just met him at a Christmas party. He walked up to me and said, "It was all about oil", and he added,"I hate this son of a bitch Bush, and I will never vote for a Republican ever again".

That my friends, it is all about. People are waking up. It is all over for the Republicans.

First of all my thanks goes out to Karl Rove, George Bush, Dick Cheney, Don Rumsfeld, Condoleezza Rice and their tens of thousands of supporters for destroying the republican party. Now we couldn't have done it without you so hats off, three cheers, a very merry Christmas and we look forward to seeing you in the video tapes.

It couldn't have happened to a nicer group of folks

From the article: "Republicans," Wendelboe said, "are all over the place. They're looking for the perfect candidate but just don't have it."

LOL, like they found "the perfect candidate" in 2000 and 2004 in the person of George W. Bush. Mostly, their arrogance has now lead to shame. No wonder they question their ability to find even a suitable candidate, much less, a "perfect" one.

Not to worry, though, Cons. Bush has so thoroughly corrupted and poisoned our nation and our world, that no Democratic government will be able to restore it in the next three years. You'll be in a great position to bluster about "Democratic ineffectiveness" and could possibly fool enough voters in 2012.

This is turning into a win win for democrats. But Im sure they will manage to screw it up. Theyve already lost the trust of many of their supporters, and if they keep on going, they will lose this too.
As my pappy use to say, these are the kind of people who could screw up a wet dream...
and Pelosi and Reid are leading the way. As long as any of the democratic candidates keep silent or even show support for the actions of their fellow democrats in congress and their betrayal to the voters, they will be included in as part of the problem and not part of the solution. and actions speak louder than words. Dodd and Kucinich are the only 2 who had the balls to do anything, of course they are 2 least likely to succeed as they dont bend over every time a capitalist or war pig walk in the room. So they are not allowed into the inner rectum of todays greedy presidential elite.
Do I sound a little Bitter?? You bet. Things are going to shit, and theres not much hope of that changing.

Oh god, they have a group of morons that are living in the past of a fictional history of President Reagan. Having lived through the Reagan era, and having paid attention to it, I know Reagan wasnt all that and a bag of chips like they want to believe he was. He was an actor of moderate degree, and a worse president.
Then again, what would you expect from a group of people who worship the same people involved with Iran Contra as Reagan, who only escaped prosecution because he claimed to have Alzheimer's even during his last years in office. Which is really scary because if he did have that, he shouldn't have been allowed to run the country. But it was a scam just to avoid prosecution.
You have to love the people who wish history was the way they really wanted it to be, and ignore the truth.

Now as for the republican party being just a shell, I can only imagine our democrats will screw up this opportunity as well by continuing to do whatever Bush wants and not following through with any promises. I for one will not be voting unless maybe Kucinich runs. He is about the only one thats made honest attempts at keeping his promise. The rest have done everything to derail the promises.
Otherwise, let the chips fall where they may as it wont make a damn bit of difference who is elected president. Capitalist will still pull the strings behind the curtains, and our Authoritarian governing politicians will continue on as usual. Whoreshington D.C ( Deads for Cash) is open for business.

I'm so saddened by the confusion and consternations of the rank and vile RNC party...figuratively speaking.
