In Norse mythology, trolls steal babies and leave their own shape-shifting offspring behind. On the Internet, they just steal attention.

As candidates increasingly use the Internet to build political bridges, their message boards have become homes for trolls, users of an online community who leave messages that are ideologically opposed, off-topic or off-color.

After reading for several days and trying to understand what I am reading from the vast Internet audience ... I suggest a vote for Hillary ... she has promised to include mental health coverage in her universal healthcare plan. I would guess that most of you, including the troll, could use a chat with a professional. What is in your heads and hearts? Sewage? Clean yourselves up for god's sake. Think before you type.

If Brian O'Neill is the typical neocon troll, that explains why the trolls on Huffpost are so fundamentally weak on research , facts, and logic.

Just can't imagine when the moron finds time to spam HERE, too... and under so many different screen names!

Anyone else appreciate the irony of this idiot-ranter being covered by the Wall Street Journal? Surprised he hasn't been offered a position on their editorial board.

I think I am finally beginning to understand what this troll phenomena is. Very sad. I read the WSJ article, it appears that the young man featured does not understand the difference between having something to say, and saying something to draw attention to himself.
I love a good discussion, and good natured banter is ok, but nonsense and foul slogans because the individual just isn't capable of more, or is too lazy to try to do more, really is sad.

For those of you who may not have seen the post because it was quickly taken off, or moved elsewhere, by the anti-Hillary crusaders of the HuffPost...Hillary has 15 points lead over Obama in Iowa. While I don't understand how quickly polls can change that much I wanted to share HuffPost's bias in its blogging.

Problem with Trolls are that they will post mostly off topic or get into a dicusssion or make statements that have no proof, or corrobrative evidence. They feel they cannot discuss, but that is not the issue if you have a topic about say oh the war on terror they will start a rant about Hillary's wardrobe or some off topic thing. Then they cry we do not want to discuss or debate. They seem not to get it, and continue to post off topic, or make groundless claims, and my policy to deal with them, although it is a tough one, is do not feed the trolls.

Hellary Robberbaron Corporatist (HRC) 2008? No way! If Hellary was a truthful person, she wouldn't keep trying to "change" herself to get votes. Hellary & Bill's campaign contributors, her/his voting records & their investments say everything that needs to be said about them. They have no ethics or morality. I'd rather not vote than go to Hellery in 2008.

PS: There's a joke going around. If the Democrats are suicidal enough to nominate her, Kellogg's already has a new breakfast cereal ready to come out to commemorate the Clintons presidential campaign -- it's called Cereal Adulterers.

Which Bush and which Clinton? Iran Contra = Bush. Savings & Loan crisis = Bush. Do you know what I Mean = Bush/Clinton. Gulf War I = Bush. Failed healthcare reform = Clinton. 12 years of sanctions on Iraq = Bush/Clinton. Nafta = Clinton. Gatt = Clinton. Telecommunications Act of 96 = Clinton. Impeachment for lying = Clinton. 9/11 = Clinton/Bush (?). Patriot Act = Bush/Clinton. Patriot Act II = Bush/Clinton. Iraq War II = Bush/Clinton. Military Commissions Act = Bush/Clinton. Bankruptcy Bill = Bush/Clinton.

Can we please have a new president that's not related to either the Bush or Clinton corporate dynasty? How can anyone call what these 2 families have left behind to the American public a simple mess?

The only cleaning Hillary will do if elected is to sweep all of her, her serial adulterer husband, and Georgie 1 & 2's messes into the White House closet and lock the door on them for 40 years (just like her records from the White House when they were in before).

PS to DLC Troll Hackers: She's not running as Hellary Rodham, she is running as Clinton.

this guy should be blogging jennie craig, from the looks of him. he is an attention sniffing weasel who, if he cared about america at all, would be more interested finding the best candidate, instead of this ridiculous self promotion

So is that his picture, the guy next to where Hillary is holding the mic?

Whooee! What - a - dumb - lookin' guy!

So that's what we're tripping over, someone who would have no chance in person, because his words could be thoroughly examined in a group context. He'd run out of steam in seconds in a real-life situation. Just his diction would let him down.

His only strength is his "humor" — AND THAT ONLY IN HIS OWN EYES: he keeps his stride because he amuses himself. No one else's approval is necessary.

But in a primate gathering, this kind of self-inflation doesn't maintain. Things focus group attention very quickly. Only a sure-footed contrarian can get a genuine zinger into a exclusive or semi-exclusive forum. Clowns fall by the wayside rather quickly.

Yeah I do some quick posts.

But these people who spend hours and hours doing it - that is a freakin' pathetic life.

The question I would ask these freaks is when was the last time they got laid? And if they even remeber - was it with a real person...

What a twerp.
First off he checks out Drudge to make sure he has all those great troll talking points.
The WSJ article assumes he is thus well armed.
It is to laugh.
