A stunning new Iowa poll seems to show the New York senator with an apparent double-digit lead over her nearest rival among likely Democratic caucus goers, with voting just over a week away.

Iowa polling is notoriously difficult because of the unpredictable nature of caucus voting. Still, the Clinton campaign is still sure to view these results as an early Christmas gift: she and Barack Obama were neck-and-neck in last week's American Research Group poll. In the new survey, conducted December 20-23, she leads the Illinois senator by 15 percentage points, 34 to 19 percent. Obama is now in a statistical tie for second place with John Edwards, who has 20 percent of the vote.

The Clintons used the holiday lull to plant this story on HuffPo, once the editors got wind of it, it was squashed. Someone is going to loose his job over this plant as well they should.

This is not a credible poll for Democrats or Republicans. I have spent more than an hour trying to find supporting data for the poll. In the process I found several versions of the CNN poll linked to the Huffington Post; all a little or substantially different.

I challenged CNN to post the number of candidates and clarify the margin of error. They have now done that on a completely different part of their political website.

CNN has also now disclosed that the percentage of Democratic UNDECIDED appears to them to be about 65%.

In other words, this poll should not have been published. The sample is not representative, and the margin of error is much higher than CNN claims.

Wait for the next effort this coming weekend.

I sure hope the good people in Iowa and NH can see through the propaganda machine. Listen, corporate America has a stranglehold on this country. We were a strong country and basically a united country. The propaganda machine has caused great division, the division has made us bicker amongst ourselves, all the while we are being robbed. 275 million dollars a day for the war alone. Much of it not going to benefit the needs of our brave soldiers, but to corporations involved in profits. The housing market crisis, insured people actually denied benefits, declining dollar, jobs moved overseas, VAT, record profits for huge corporations. We are in trouble folks. What corporations are backing your candidate? It's a tit for tat government, dollars donated to generate favor. There is a non-partisian site opensecrets.org, it's worth a look. We will either continue down the path we are going or we will fight for our country, fight for democracy. This is the most important election in my lifetime (46). We are at a crossroad, it's our choice this election.

Poor little things... what will you do when she wins? Do you think a shrewd woman like Hillary Clinton with an even shrewder man like Bill Clinton behind her, doesn't know what she's doing? And you better hope you have a candidate that knows what they are doing come election day or you will end up with a fascist Republican government for another 4 to 8 years.

You guys better get ready and then you better decide, do you want the country put back together and do you want us restored to where we were before Bush? Only one candidate can do that... and with no learning curve... that is Hillary Clinton.

Once again, it seems that Americans will vote for the candidate they're "supposed to vote for," according to the media.

Why?

Wake up people! There are real Democrats out there to vote for! Hillary is another corporate sell-out. Don't vote for her! We need courage and vision in a candidate, not just someone whose husband happened to be president.

Well,
if Hillary has it sewn up by the time Feb 5th rolls around I'm going to have to vote in the Republican primary for Huckabee. A Hillary v. Huckabee race would be the best thing for America. So many people on both sides of the aisle will be disenchanted with their candidates that it could give someone like Bloomberg a realistic chance.

Until both these parties are destroyed America is sunk... If you think the Democrats are the answer you are dreaming. Look at what these idiots in Congress have done. They think that they will take back the Presidency in 2008 so they are unwilling to take any political risk. In the intervening 2 years the whole country suffers. What a bunch of fools and cowards.

I live in Illinois where the Dems took back control of the state. At the time I thought it would be a good thing. In reality it's the same mess.... but now it's Democratic factional fighting...

Why doesn't Hillary tout her NAFTA, or even worse MFN for China? Those great accomplishments of her husband...

What exactly is so 'stunning' about this poll? It's just one poll. Give me a break.

Go John Edwards!

There are only two people in this race who are fighting for the people. They are the only two who give a rats ass about our civil rights. They are the only two who would never bomb another nation foe no reason. They are the only two who would never subvert the constution to use tourture. They are........

Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul

This makes two Bill Clinton influence peddling for the day. First Hillary’s campaign sends out postcards tell her supporter to go to the Caucasus on Jan 14, then faster than you could say chazam, the story is removed from the front pages of Politico, I dare anyone to find the story anywhere. Hoffingtonpost did not even report the story, luckily we managed to get the link showing the postcard the campaign sent out. Now this phony poll is being push on the voters by the Clintons, these are some powerful people, killing an important story and pushing a phony poll all in one day. Here people are the links, read them and ask yourself why Google News, Politico and Huffpo killed this story documenting Hillary Clinton’s incompetence to run an organized campaign.

Now you can see how manipulative Hill Clinton can be and how he has such influence over the press, why bother to debate this Push Poll by the Clintons. Believe me, the Clintons are planning something really nasty days before the caucus.

The GOOD News is not one delegate has yet become a Clinton delegate.
Those people who are supporting a candidate other than Hillary on the first round, and you aren't viable, become UNCOMMITED delegates on the second round. Form groups on issues, anti-Iraq War, LGBT, Global Warming, Pro-Choice, Greens.
This gives non Hillary delegates CLOUT for the Convention.

Looks like the end of that crack cocaine smoking Obama. Plus, the country just isn't ready for a Muslim president.

I would enjoy nothing more than watching the Republicans live with 8 more years of Clinton. Even if I prefered Biden.
