With snow and sleet pounding her hotel window, campaign manager Patti Solis Doyle dialed in to an early-morning strategy debate a few weeks ago among the top advisers of Hillary Clinton, who were bickering over stumbles that had caused Sen. Clinton to lose her edge in Iowa opinion polls.

Strategist and pollster Mark Penn insisted the campaign shouldn't abandon its "strength and experience" message. Picture former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, he said.

Lets face it, there isn't a single candidate out there who has the experience of cleaning up the mess GWB is leaving behind. The best we can hope for is someone who has the right connections and advisors to at least make a good start. It will take years beyond the next president to fix all the problems. I'm more concerned who is behind the president than the president. I don't want another cheney, rice, rumfield etc. etc. telling the prez what to do.

Yeah by using experience as her strong point seems funny when you did not have a security clearance. This shows you how much she knew. Unless she is willing to tell everyone Her and Bill broke the law. She says everyone is piling on. She is producing a pile!!!

Her greatest qualifications 1. She's a "scheduler" -- wow that's got to be tough. "I can put you down for Tuesday at 2..." Woo. Watch out!
2. She knows Hillary really well.

Awesome team you've got there Hill. Please do not demote this person. Please give her even more power. Your campaign is going so well. Don't change a thing. I mean, look, you got that Register endorsement!

What's odd is that she used a complete newby to political campaigning, but then Al Gore made a pretty poor choice in 2000 also. Makes one wonder why she couldn't get someone with actual experience, oh, say, *winning* a campaign to work for her. No one interested in the job?

What a puff piece! Anyone who wonders how sincere Clinton is about standing up for workers should take a real look at the people who run her campaign. Doyle's husband was part of the free trade cheerleading squad at the Clinton Commerce Dept. Mandy Grunwald helped mastermind the campaign to pass NAFTA. Mark Penn's company does work for the notoriously anti-union Cintas. Whether or not you think Edwards or Obama is more committed to working people, there's no denying that Clinton's inner circle is composed of the same corporate hacks who surrounded her husband. It's too bad that the union "leaders" who have endorsed Clinton lack the balls to demand she change her tune. If Hillary and her people were willing to stick it to labor by supporting the Peru trade agreement imagine what they'll do once they no longer need union support to get elected? When the deals are cut it will be Clinton's corporate Dems. in the room, not labor. What a bunch of clowns.
