Hundreds of thousands of mourners paid last respects to Benazir Bhutto as the opposition leader was buried Friday at the mausoleum of Pakistan's most famous political dynasty. Furious supporters rampaged through several cities to protest her assassination less than two weeks before crucial elections.

Some wept, others chanted "Benazir is alive," as the plain wood coffin was placed beside the grave of her father in the vast, white marble mausoleum in southern Sindh province near the Bhuttos' ancestral home.

Of course, conspiracy theories are rampant when there is suspicion of a cover-up as we all know. Pakistan's gov't. like our own is prone to making things look bad by not being forthcoming with information that could quell such suspicions. What we know about Bhutto's death :

Ms Bhutto turned to her deputy, Amin Fahim, and said she wanted to wave, Fahim recounted. The sunroof was opened and she stood up.

Shots rang out and Pakistan's former prime minister and the leader of the Pakistan People's Party slumped back into the vehicle, blood pouring from her head. Three to five shots were fired, with at least one shot hitting her in the neck, witnesses said.

Moments later came a huge explosion to the left of her vehicle as the assassin blew himself up, mortally wounding Ms Bhutto and a squad of bodyguards who pounced on him.

Inside the operating room, her body lay on a stretcher, covered with a white sheet, a white bandage wrapped around her neck.

According to a leading lawyer, Athar Minallah, an autopsy is mandatory under Pakistan's criminal law in a case of this nature.

''It is absurd, because without autopsy it is not possible to investigate. Is the state not interested in reaching the perpetrators of this heinous crime or was there a cover-up?'' Minallah said.

The scene of the attack also was washed with a high-pressure hose within an hour, washing away evidence.

Hmm. Guards abandoning posts, shots fired, bandage on neck in hospital, scene of the crime pressure washed an hour later ?

Yeah, looks like a Musharaaf-ISI cover-up to me.

"George Bush announced on Thursday he was “looking forward” to talking to his old friend Musharraf. Of course, they would talk about Benazir. They certainly would not talk about the fact that Musharraf continues to protect his old acquaintance - a certain Mr Khan - who supplied all Pakistan’s nuclear secrets to Libya and Iran. No, let’s not bring that bit of the “axis of evil” into this."

I wouldn't be surprised if some moronic, anti-semitic, bigot posted some head-up-ass diatribe blaming Jews for having a hand in the Bhutto murder.

Oh....Sorry Buy Rubles.
Didn't see you down there.

It is very clear to me that Bhutto murder was a self-planned job which went wrong. There are no bullets or else the Musharraf people would not have released the body and ask her supporters to exhume the body and have it autopsied.

There X-Rays show that it was a blunt force injury. It may be noted that the gun was pointed towards her from close range but not at her, it appears to be more like pointed in the air.

This time around they were not able to identify the bomber so quickly as the last time when 160 people died from a 'supposed' human carried suicide bomb. I looked it up, historically a suicide bombing causes about 30 or so deaths, when two suicide bombers were present. That was clearly a planned job as she went down to the safety of her armored vehicle just before the bomb went off.

In this case, the guy fires as a warning for her to duck, drops the gun, walks away, she ducks, but since she is standing at an angle sticking her neck out of the sunroof she needs help being pulled in before the bomb goes off, ergo, the people in the car pull her in, causing the head injury, which a personal ducking under her own force will not be able to achieve; next, the SUV speeds up and the bomb goes off.

Until more film becomes available this the the most likely scenario. This was a snow job which went wrong.

I feel for those who lost their lives in the blast and in the ensuing violence. Her party can put this to rest by performing an autopsy.

BTW, OKC bomb killed 160 people, clearly her first bombing was planned with her complicity, this time again it was the same thing, except they were too clever by half.

Next time you see a troll talking Congressional approval ratings tell him to shove it up his ass. Congressional approval ratings are bullshit. Meaningless when taken out of the context of historical perspective because they are ALWAYS low.

http://online.wsj.com/public/article/SB117752895118782401-uDkZU8lRXG_TdtfisPq050345ew_20070503.html

WSJ says congressional approval 4/2007 27% D-35% R-22% Bush-28%

Congressional approval ratings 3/2005= 34%

10/1998= 44%

5/2006= 23% (Repooplicon congress)

Congressional approval ratings from 1974-1986 only twice got above 50% and for most of that time were below 40%

Approval ratings are a red herring that the neocon trolls are trying to use as a smokescreen to cover their tactic of Congressional gridlock and filibuster.

Don't fall for it.

Unless they are willing to have an autopsy the question of how she died is just speculation.

Perhaps NEITHER side wants to know the truth.

Its easier for them to make claims without the pesky truth getting in the way.

On the subject of Bill Kristol:

"We figured a NeoCon fool who's wrong on just about everything, and who is afforded more face time by the Corporate Media than his less-than-zero political stature could possibly deserve would be just the ticket to pad our conservative pantheon of Bush Administration acolytes and sycophants," said a New York Times spokesman.

Unfortunately you are wrong. Liberal refers to agents of change, while conservatives are those who resist change and cling to the past.

Radical Islam is conservatives expressing hatred of change through violence. Liberals are the enemy of all conservative religions as well as administrations resistant to change as expressed by Pervez Musharraf.

The Bush Administration and its disastrous foreign political adventures remind me of the subject of this poem written in 1817 by Percy Bysshe Shelley:

OZYMANDIAS
I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them on the sand,
Half sunk, a shatter'd visage lies, whose frown
And wrinkled lip and sneer of cold command
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamp'd on these lifeless things,
The hand that mock'd them and the heart that fed.
And on the pedestal these words appear:
"My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains: round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare,
The lone and level sands stretch far away.
