An 11-year-old boy said a TV show about surviving an avalanche helped him when he was buried by one at a ski resort.

"Create air pockets," Max Zilvitis told himself, recalling a show on the Discovery Channel.

That's about all he remembers from an avalanche that buried him for about 30 minutes Sunday and killed a 30-year-old Colorado man at The Canyons.

Glad he survived, but he's clearly a suggestible little shit. This budding megalomaniac believes TV saved his life. News flash to Junior: Luck, a small avalanche, and a small army of volunteers, combined with an intensive care unit, saved your life. You did NOTHING. You think a TV show, and your intelligence, did it. HOWEVER>>>YOU WERE CLUELESS.

One thing that certainly DIDN'T save his life...was The Canyons (TM) ski patrol, which had bombed the slope before it avalanched. To a typical, lift-based, ski "patrol" that's considered avalanche control, not avalanche potential evaluation. But hey, they gotta get those slopes open for the X-mas $$$$crowd. And they all think they're Chuck Norris.

Just goes to show, dumb Midwestern sheep shouldn't be allowed off their leash.
