Gas prices rose back to $3 a gallon at the pump Friday, following rising oil futures on concerns about tight inventories and potential supply disruptions.

Meanwhile, light, sweet crude for February delivery fell 57 cents Friday to $96.05 a barrel on the Nymex, reversing earlier gains after weak figures on new home sales ignited new concerns about the economy. Despite Friday's swoon, oil futures have risen 3 percent this week.

Retail gas prices, which typically lag the futures market, are widely expected to rise to new record highs in the spring. Analysts think futures investors are anticipating big gains by buying now, driving futures -- and thus pump prices -- higher.

Big Oil has been pushing to get the price of a gallon of gas to 5 bucks since the Vietnam War.

Why do you think Dickhead Cheney doesn't want the notes from the energy meetings at the WH in the earliest days of the regime to become public? They agreed the target price would be reached before the end of the Cheney/Bush regime, and it looks like they're right on track.

Asswipes like the Republican troll SadaamHero want everyone to believe that $5 a gallon gas is a real bargain compared to the rest of the world because that's been Big Oil's standard mantra for the last several decades. It's the old smoke-and-mirrors ruse: don't look at things the way they REALLY are, look at them thru a different prism. Then, they don't look so bad afterall.

Bullllllshit!

No rational energy policy. The end of cheap energy and the end of Middle America go hand in hand. We are paying for a quarter century of squandered leadership. We are entering the epoch of hard and dangerous times.

I say we take away the profit from the ones who make more per gallon...Everyone agree??? Cool.

So now please join me and tell your Congressman to remove all taxes on gas and the group that makes more profit per gallon will will be cut off...the government makes more per gallon that the oil companies.

Real simple to reduce the price. Just have the Democrat Congress remove all taxes? The governments make more money per gallon than the oil companies. But I bet you moonbats did not know that since your news is filtered.

Time for BEVs , battery electric vehicles !

The 300 mpg vehicle is here next year !

http://www.popularmechanics.com/automotive/new_cars/4237853.html?series=19

Cheaper to buy , own and operate ...

Much cheaper to make-fewer moving parts , far less to maintain-electric motor and 120 mile per galllon equivalent cost to petrol.

Mass produced BEVs couldd lower the cost to below $10,000 per vehicle. Batteries now last 10 years. The range is over 100 miles, and for those that need it a smalll generator to lengthen range.

americans can be very resourceful when they want to. i'd bet that all over the country people will find ways to buy less gas. and the less we buy, the lower the oil companies' profit. i hope it hurts like hell when they shoot themselves in the foot with their greed.

I think gas prices will get to $4.15 (just like in the the sign) before they get down to $3 in my neighborhood. Yesterday, the local Chevron station was charging over $3.50 per gallon.

What did Americans think would happen when they put a pair of oil men in the White House.

Key word: THINK
