Pakistani Official: Al-Qaida, Taliban Behind Assassination

"We have the evidence that al-Qaida and Taliban were behind the suicide attack on Benazir Bhutto," Interior Minister Hamid Nawaz said.

Interior Ministry spokesman Javed Iqbal Cheema said that on Friday, the government recorded an "intelligence intercept" in which militant leader Baitullah Mehsud "congratulated his people for carrying out this cowardly act."

Pakistan will say anything for another 10 billion dollars.If we take over the investigation, then Pakistan will just fall back and let us do it. We make other countries dependent by doing this, let them do the investigation themselves.

Joe Biden criticized President Bush for his veto of the Defense Authorization Conference Report and called on him to immediately begin implementing the Biden-Brownback Resolution and Senator Biden’s comprehensive exit plan for Iraq which is contained in the bill.

In calling for the President to act on the bill’s key components, Sen. Biden stated, “Yesterday’s tragic events in Pakistan underscore the sobering effects of our failed policy in Iraq. As I’ve said, when President Bush abandoned Afghanistan to go to war in Iraq, it sent a message to Musharraf that the U.S. might not be there to protect him.

“Ending the war in Iraq would allow us to go after al-Qaeda in Afghanistan and assist the Pakistani moderates in taking control of their country. And it would allow us to get our sons and daughters out of the middle of Iraq’s civil war,” said Biden.

“Just moving to enact the Biden-Brownback resolution would bring the international community into the cause of long-term peace in the region. And we would further stabilize the region by committing to the bill’s provision that the U.S. foreswear any long-term military bases in Iraq,” added Biden.

“This war must end and the Biden-Brownback resolution is the key to that endgame,” said Biden. “It is essential that the President sign this provision as soon as possible and help the Iraqis implement the federal system called for in their Constitution.”

Look here, I went to college, read, lived, but dam after 40 that changes., when will congress and the people in this country face reality? Especially congress. Man they are moving fast to scramble this whole thing up. get so many stories out there you cant believe any of them and everything goes to the "conspiracy theory" category. Its worked so well for the US and other governments around the world when they dont want the truth out, but I cant recall it moving this fast in a long time. Not even during 911 or Kennedy assassination. No one will ever know the total truth, and thats the way they want it. And now they have done it here too.

Pervez Musharraf is to Pakistan what Saddam Hussein was to Iraq. And, although Musharraf has almost outlived his usefulness to the Bush administration, they can't just bump him off. Pakistan has nukes. Real ones.

Right-wingers have been trained to accept whatever the US government says at face value and never use critical thinking. They just love thinking of the world as divided into two big camps: "the goodies and the baddies", just like little children. So, of course Americans are the "goodies" (well, mostly, those damned leeebruls are crazy communist-atheist-muslims...) and so is any country that blindly accepts American foreign policy, better if it's a dictatorship, so that anyone who dares to disagree is mercilessly crushed (it goes without saying that anyone who questions the pro-US authorities is a "terrorist"...)
The problem is, sometimes even for a child things in the world get a little more complicated and harder to understand: Musharraff is obviously the "good guy" and he's fighting the "bad guys", the Al Qaedas. But hey, wait a minute, he's a Muslim!!! Muslims are all bad, they are all "terrorists", aren't they? Then of course it's also a mystery why Al Qaeda and the Taliban would want to kill Bhutto (who had no power whatsoever and she was basically a "bad guy", because of her quasi-Socialist ideals) instead of "President" Musharraff ("good" dictators are always called "presidents".)
But then again "right-thinking" Americans have been trained to never ask questions and accept the most outrageous government BS, even when it makes absolutely no sense. So, they strongly believe that Shia Iran provides weapons to Sunni insurgents (the "Al Qaedas") to kill...Iraqi Shia. It doesn't make any sense, but it really doesn't matter. Whatever the US government says is the truth...

CNN's expert, Ken Robinson, just said that bu promulgating the sunroof theory, "her enemies are trying to deny her a martyr's death, and in Islam, that's pretty important."
That is fodder for those who think Musharraf did it, because it is MUSHARRAF'S GOVERNMENT saying she was not killed by a sniper, shrapnel, etc.
Or was at least complicit, etc., etc.
