New England Patriots

AP:

Tom Brady was as giddy as the quarterback of an unbeaten and perhaps unbeatable team should be. Had Bill Belichick spotted him slapping the backs of his New England teammates, the dour coach might have scoffed.

After all, a perfect 16-0 regular season won't mean much if the Patriots don't win their next three games and another Super Bowl.

All of the MSM pundits including the NFL Network said Brady would leave Manning's record far behind. He earned the prize but he did it with one more...incredible feat but not exactly a thrashing of the record. Lost in the shuffle was the Colts lost game where Manning posted an 8th season of 4,000 plus yards and Reggie Wayne surpassed Randy Moss for yards per game this season.

What an impression they make. Unlike the Colts on their unbeaten run, the Pats kept pouring it on with their first team to run up the scores. That is when they weren't fighting for their lives. Then there is their coach...."Quiet Bitterness". Then their cheating. Brady, undeniably one of the all timne greats, deserves praise. But, the team? They are good...no question. But they stink up the place when you go beyond that.

Perfect season? It's easy when you know what defense the other team is going to run! They got caught with the Jets, but how long had this been going on? I'll make book a good 3-4 years. This team ain't the '72 Dolphins. As for Coach Bill, the man has the personality of a turnip, and the only facial expression I ever see is "I'm pissed at the world". And that sweatshirt! Doesn't he know that he looks like an idiot? Especially in 10 degree weather! He has no class, and lets his team taunt the crowd (unsportsmanlike-no class). He reminds me of Pat Dye when he was at Auburn. I know why Bear Bryant couldn't stand him. He was the same as Bill.

I live in Packer country and I could not be prouder of the Patriots.

I love the Patriots and I hope we/they win a championship this year.

They truly deserve it.

If the Patriots win the Superbowl their perfect record should have an asterisk next to it. THEY CHEATED! They were caught red handed and should have been forced to forfeit the game.

Team McLaren in F1 was #1 in the team constructors championship standings with a few races left in the season. They got caught cheating, the team was heavily fined $1 million automatic. Estimated $15 million since they were stripped of their ability to earn anything off this past seasons performances. And stripped of all team points and mandated to a last place finish in the standings.

That's called justice, fairplay, sportsmanship, etc.

What I wanna know is, what can you call the slap on the wrist the Patriots got, other than complete bullshit??

First team in history that's been rewarded heavily after they were caught cheating. Will that mean Shoeless Joe Jackson gets his credibility restored along with the other members of his team?? This mean that Pete Rose goes right into the Hall of Fame tomorrow?? This mean that Marion Jones will be given her medals back, and that Floyd Landis won't have to give up his?? This mean that Bonds isn't indicted after all??

What's the deal??

Belicheat & the Pats........a perfect team for the Bush "anything-goes" years. I guess the corporate-owned media will sweep the cheating under the rug and white-wash all wrong-doing just as they have for the criminals in the Whitehouse for 7 years. What a joke America has become.....lying, cheating, torture.........anything goes.

The only reason they won was lousy officiating that was subjective to the Patriots.

Prove me wrong.

16-0 is one hell of an achievement for a team in a league with a salary cap.

Take note, Major League Baseball. A salary cap doesn't result in league-wide mediocrity. Instead, it allows greatness to be achieved anywhere in the league, even in small markets like Green Bay, where the Packers went 13-3.

Congratulations New England Patriots, and bring on the playoffs!

I hope they keep winning. Let's have them go the next 4 years without a loss. Might as well, the NFL is as big a farce as baseball is with cheating and scandals, and the "roid rage" like you saw alot in the game last night.

As far as the Pats being good, LMFAO, they suck. They have been given alot of their wins. Like last night. Hell, my Falcons could have scored that one touchdown if the refs gave them THREE free tries to score. I mean, DUH. If people can't tell the game is rigged at that point, they are the biggest idiots on the planet and also probably believe that Bush is the greatest President in human history.

Put Tom Brady on the Falcons, let's see how good he really is. ;) Or a Junior "Roid Rage" Seau who is so old, he turned down a broadcaster when he RETIRED from the Chargers. ;) How many cops has Randy Moss ran over lately that got him banned from Minnesota? How many super bowls did he win there? I forgot, the Falcons beat the heavily favored Vikings asses. And they did it with a team full of nobody's and rejects from the entire league. Was not a single star on the team. Then they got Vick and have sucked ever since.

Definitely means nothing unless they win the Super Bowl. Then, deserves an asterisk due to cheating. Way to go, genius coach. You just couldn't go with the talent you have, you had to get an edge. Maybe you deserve an asterisk, where the sun don't shine. Jack Out.

I am a Steelers fan but I believe in giving credit where credit is due. It is a great accomplishment for any team to go 16-0. But, all of this hoopla will mean nothing except a notation in the record book if the team doesn't win the remaining 3 games and the ultimate prize, The Super Bowl.
On the other hand, I have to wonder if Brady will put as much effort into being a father to the son born to his former girlfriend. After all football is just a game or in Brady's case a mean of earning a paycheck, but the child is a human being with needs, like the love and attention of both a mother and a father. Being a "perfect" father says much more about the kind of man you are than any career accomplishment.

It is nice to see a team with a LIBERAL coach and LIBERAL owners showing Goodell and his Republican cronies how to run a pro football operation.

No matter the accomplishments this team achieves, they will be forever remembered as a classless team that got caught cheating.

Classless, not so much for the cheating, but for the way that they ran up the score on teams that they easily beat. No other NFL team in history has done this on a regular basis like N.E. did.
