John Edwards has clawed his way into contention to win Iowa's caucuses on Thursday in the first vote for the Democratic presidential nomination, gaining strength even as rivals Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama have lost ground, according to a new McClatchy-MSNBC poll.

At the same time, Mitt Romney has regained the lead among Iowa Republicans as Mike Huckabee has lost momentum and support, even among the evangelical Christians who had propelled him into the top spot just weeks ago.

Taken together, this first poll in Iowa since campaigning resumed after a Christmas break showed a dead-heat contest between the three leading Democratic candidates and a volatile clash between the two top Republican rivals here.

Judicary Watch just printed their 10 most corrupt politicians of 2007 - Obama and Clinton made the list. Clinton for not releasing the White House year documents as First Lady. Obama for the following:

" Senator Barack Obama (D-IL): A "Dishonorable Mention" last year, Senator Obama moves onto the "ten most wanted" list in 2007. In 2006, it was discovered that Obama was involved in a suspicious real estate deal with an indicted political fundraiser, Antoin "Tony" Rezko. In 2007, more reports surfaced of deeper and suspicious business and political connections It was reported that just two months after he joined the Senate, Obama purchased $50,000 worth of stock in speculative companies whose major investors were his biggest campaign contributors. One of the companies was a biotech concern that benefited from legislation Obama pushed just two weeks after the senator purchased $5,000 of the company"s shares. Obama was also nabbed conducting campaign business in his Senate office, a violation of federal law."

You’d never know it from the headline to this post and the obviously altered photo showing Hillary Clinton looking pale compared to Obama and Edwards, but Hillary leads in two out of three of the latest Iowa polls.

According to the Los Angeles Times, an aggregate of the results of the Reuters/Zogby, American Research Group, and McClatchy/MSNBC polls showed Clinton with 30% support, Edwards 27% and Obama 26%, a statistical dead heat.

Individual poll results showed:

In the Reuters/Zogby poll, Hillary leads Obama by four points and Edwards by seven points.

The American Research Group's latest poll shows Clinton leading both Obama and Edwards by seven points:

McClatchy/MSNBC differs from the other two polls by showing Edwards, Clinton, and Obama with only a one- or two-point spread.

Although Edwards may not be easily electable, he certainly has more on the ball than Billery and O-Bomb-a combined. Given the other options from the DNC, Biden and Dodd have far more experience and common sense going for them than the rest of the pack.

After the Iowa and New Hampshire mess, the pact might be thinned a little but after Super Tuesday, the real candidate nominees will be fairly well defined. All the promotional work and political backstabbing will probably continue to some degree because the losers and their supports will not give up on their primate motives, causes, and objectives.

What will Huffin&Puffin do when her darling O-Bomb-a loses out? Will she and Oprah try to sell him as a VP to Billery, Edwards, Biden, or Dodd? Any ticket with O-Bomb-a’s name linked to it will be a loser. Just let him make another lame speech at the convention to appease his rabid followers.

I'm not crazy about the way the polls are taken or the MSM input on shaping the elections. But I have listened to Edwards speak his mind and I do believe he speaks from the heart.Kucinich impresses me in much the same manner but for various reasons has not been able to command the same respect. When the campaigning first started I was totally behind Hillary, she's smart, has what it takes to run the country......but not the way I first envisioned. Her stand on healthcare seems to have been eroded comensurate with donations she's accepted from the industry. Her stand on Iraq is unknown to me.Other than throwing these Republican bums out of office those two issues are what's important to most Americans. So far I have to agree,Edwards is the best choice.

romney beat down huckabee with a mountain of cash. How nice and evil of him.

Actually, my opinion is that polling should be outlawed. Spending should be capped. Equal time should be given to each of the candidates.

But, what do I know?

Woot Edwards! I can't wait for Obama the capitulating preacher to get his butt kicked. 1X term, beat Alan Keyes, gives a nothing speech at the Dem convention and he thinks he can be president. what a joke. After Obama, the Edwards campaign is coming for Hillary.

I actually watched Edwards on CSPAN today.
I was impressed.
I'm thinking that a donation is in order and possibly a vote on down the line.

Why do people allow this (sold out worthless) MSM, to kick them in the nuts over and over again. They have demonstrated their totally lack of concern for the people and they take us for fools. All of the candidates are running for the president of the United States of America. Who the hell are they (MSM) not to allow all of them equal time.
By doing this act alone shows, they have decided what candidates THEY SAY we should consider. Who crowned these fuckers.

Then they come out with these ranky dank polls, 3 freaking days from the Iowa primary and name a leader. How many times are YOU PEOPLE GOING TO BE PUNKED OUT! PLAYED FOR SUCKERS? This crap has been happening at least since 1913, when the country was taken over by the bankers.

When asked whether he would raise tax rates on the very wealthy above 39 percent, Edwards didn't spend his whole answer on the minutiae of his tax reform plan.

Instead, he got to the bigger issue: WEALTH INCOME IS CURRENTLY NOT TAXED AT THE SAME RATE AS WORK INCOME , which means we are not treating work "with the dignity it's entitled to" in this country. Edwards tax reform and simplification plan would actually benefit the middle class by taxing work and wealth EQUITABLY.

This poll was a waste of time. It says the undecided is 12%, a margin of error of 3 to 5% and 1 in 3 may change their minds. Any of the candidates could be leading or win it. This tells me nothing, these poll takers don't have any idea, what the people of Iowa will do.

They shouldn't publish crap like this. They are trying to manipulate the voters.

There are a lot of polls out there, so which one do we believe?!

This is my humble opinion, but I tend to believe this one. Despite all the money raised and all the coverage the MSM has given them, I don’t think they (Obama/Clinton) will win Iowa. The message I hear from them is I want to get elected rather than I want to make a difference. Next to Kucinich Edwards has the most populist message AND he is more electable.

Because of this administration's and the republican party's (perminant bent over posture)dismal failure, there are many more partisan voters. We don't want anything remotely close to what we have now. Whoever has distanced themselves the most from it will win.

"I had direct access to all of the decision-makers, I was briefed on a range of issues, often provided classified information," she said, adding she was accompanied by top US security officials on the road."

This is a quote from Hillary Clinton on This Week. Why was Hillary Clinton allowed to see classified document without the proper clearance, this is against the law. Is she now admitting to breaking the law.

Here her ego got the better of her, I’m waiting for all the columnist to write their Monday morning stories on Hillary Clinton breaching the National Security Act.
