Court TV, R.I.P. The network that burst into public consciousness with the O.J. Simpson trial and other big-name courtroom dramas in the 1990s becomes part of television history Tuesday, renamed truTV to emphasize its prime-time action programming.

Besides the name, there won't be many immediate changes to what Court TV has become. The six remaining hours of legal-oriented material during the day will remain, labeled "In Session."

It's part of an ongoing pattern. Remember when Discovery Channel, The Learning Channel and A&E actually had good programming? Now it's all, "Flip This House, Have a Baby" garbage.

Court TV looks like its farmed all its talking heads to their own shows on CNN, etc. So is it going to be 'Cops' and 'America's Most Thrilling Police Videos?" I betcha. Yawn.

Discovery moved most of its animal programming to the Animal Channel. Now it's home improvement and makeovers. Again, yawn.

I rather enjoyed Court TV, particularly the insights given by guests regarding our legal system. That said, if I see that stupid video of the truck thieves getting centerpunched by a tractor trailer one more time, I'm gonna pull an Elvis and shoot my damn television!

O.K., TruTV. Start off on a good foot and dump that gasbag Jones.

The materialistic, ego-maniacal a-hole has had her 15 minutes of shame.
Time for her to go back to law and stop annoying us with her presence.

Funniest Star Jones moment:
Seeing her get smacked square in the face with a football thrown by Jason Seahorn of the New York Giants on The View.
The sweetest part? They replayed it in slo-mo multiple times.

But why the picture of the un-star star jones? Was that really necessary just when I was beginning to forget her sorry existence?

CATHERINE CRIER...WHERE ARE YOU AND YOUR RESPECTFUL PROGRAM....COME BACK...PLEASE WE NEED DIGNITY NOT GARBAGE.

Court TV joins A&E, TV Land, and other cable outlets that started out with interesting ideas and good intentions only to cave under commercial pressure to become schlock shops. Gotta hand it to Turner Classic Movies. Not only has TCM managed to stay true to its original intent, it's gotten better.
