Bloomberg Denies Presidential Run...To Ryan Seacrest

In a late entry, the award for best political question in the most unusual circumstance goes to . . . Ryan Seacrest!

On ABC's "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve", Republican turned Independent Mayor Michael Bloomberg told Seacrest in no uncertain terms that he will not make a bid for the Oval Office.

Seacrest, who more often finds himself in a tete-a-tete with Simon Cowell rather than the leader of Gotham, began the inquiry by commenting to Bloomberg's daughters, "I want your dad to answer this honestly. Will you run for president?"

Without hesitation, Bloomberg responded, "No, I will not run for president, but I will speak out to try to get people to really focus on the issues and to get rid of partisanship and special interests."

Now he gets to quiz potential presidential candidates and leer at Carrie Underwood's boobs on national TV.

But Bloomberg's not going to say that publicly to Ryan Seacrest, or anybody.

Bloomberg's lying. Why then did he have that "secret" strategy meeting in Oklahoma? Is it just because he's really a Sooner and not a New Yorker at heart? I don't think so. He's playing all the angles and won't hesistae in using his billions to buy the Presidency.

One person could literally buy the most powerful job in the world. Do you really want a President like that? And yes, living with your hot babe in the White House just won't fly. So will this be a political marriage of convenience? There's another issue that nobody wants to deal with.
