Sens. Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton each surpassed the $100 million fundraising mark for their presidential campaigns in 2007, according to people directly familiar with their finance operations, the first time two candidates have eclipsed that milestone before a single primary vote was cast.

The two Democrats have set a breakneck fundraising pace for the crowded presidential race since the beginning of 2007, a contest defined by the pursuit of both wealthy donors and newcomers lured to make smaller contributions through the Internet.

"It's unprecedented," said Michael S. Berman, a campaign veteran who organized fundraising for former vice president Walter F. Mondale's 1984 Democratic campaign. "What we did, it's not even relevant anymore. The amounts just keep growing. I don't know if there is an upper limit."

Aides to the Democratic front-runners did not say yesterday how much cash they had remaining to spend, as last-minute donations were still being tallied.

What Mr. Berman SHOULD be saying is, why the hell does politics continue to be the biggest industry in America? Does he realize how f****d up this looks to the rest of the world? In America the campaigns go on forever. They spend obscene amounts of money. And (especially after the 2000 "election"), they look like a banana republic as a result.

But from Hillary to the "political strategists" and the MSM hacks, does anybody want to give up their piece of this gravy train? F**k no. And that's what really obscene. But as usual nobody cares....

Oh, TRAITOR NADER has crawled out of his hole again? There he goes again!

The publicity-seeker, election spoiler, NARCISSIST should be thrashed and ignored, as he richly deserves to me.

Nader's a looser. As are those who follow such trash's coattails.

To all the snot-faced little trick, hack, troglodyte children here talking sh|t about Ralph Nader, get a fvkcing clue. Seriously. You sound like little school girls, whining about some nonsensicle hallucination. Yes, the way it played out is unfortunate. But god-forbid someone should vote their conscience. God-forbid. God-forbid someone should rightly note that the democratic party and DLC are corrupted and act on that by not granting them their vote. You fascist little whores tweak me. To blame and direct your vitriol at an honest, upright, independent man of integrity instead of the insipid vultures who are the ones trashing this country?!?! Nonsense. You are full if sh|t and nonsense. Grow the f up.

I guess Obama is peeing his pants in desperation running up and down and up and down trying to accuse Hillary of every thing under the sun to see if he can get those votes. I ask you people what in the hell kind of a president would this person be...missing votes, calling names, bombing Iran..damn what next.

Who are the top three candidates?

We don't really know.

Kucinich trounced everyone in the two largest polls for far: the DFA and the independents polls. 40% of Iowa voters are independent.

$100 million is what we would have spent on Halloween this year if gas hadn't been so high.

I have spent considerable time criticising Hillary because of her corporate friendly and pro war stances. Every other Democratic candidate would be fine with me if they win, even Gravell would be better than Hillary or the rest of the GOP. I'll hold my nose and vote for her if necessary but we have much better choices available.

I like Edwards. Some of Edwards supporters - not so much.

I wonder if racist scum like dora_rice is representative of Edwards supporters. If he/she is, I feel sorry for Edwards.

And, although not as racist, some other Edwards supports seem more interested in mudslinging at other candidates rather than supporting their own. That, again, is a disservice to a good candidate.

Pay to Play. And Americans wonder why THEY have no representation. Since who wins is based on who raises the most money, these people don't represent YOU fellow citizens - they represent whomever pays them the most. That's a fact. Ask any congressional staffer - business has been writing it's own laws for a long long time.

Why hasn't the democratic controlled congress done what the voters put them in office to do? Because they're paid for by the same war profiteers & won't rock that boat. Why hasn't anything been done about illegal immigration? Because the pay to play businesses want them here and the taxpayers pay.

I recommend Chalmers Johnson's book, "Blowback" which predicted correctly the past 7 years, and he continues to be correct in "Nemesis, the last days of the American Republic."
