Bill And Hillary

Politico:

In all the excitement over the prospect that Hillary Rodham Clinton might be our first woman president, largely overlooked is the fact that, after trying numerous other strategies, she has ended up dependent on her husband to help her win.

Her campaign had begun by tagging her, simply, "Hillary."

She would win this thing on her own.

Two for the price of one, I'd take it anytime of the day! During the Clinton years my bank account was obese, now its anemic.

Hillary is more of a doer than a talker, Bill has exemplary people skill that Hillary lacks. I don't mind Bill stumping for his wife, that is called TEAM WORK. Hillary campaigned tirelessly in the 90's for her husband.

Hillary has my vote and campaign donation.

Gee, do you think so???

There would be no Hillary without Bill.

Hillary is a hollow, brittle woman with an unquenachable power lust that has her tied at the hip to the man who f*cked her over the most.

If this doesn't say "I'll do anything to get elected" I don't know what does.

Prediction: Hillary gives slick willie the bums rush after she wins her second term. With Willie out, Huma moves into the White House and America gets it's first lesbian president.

Duuuuuuuuuh. In Washington - it's not what you know, it's who you know. From the bottom to the top of the game of politics whether you're in some obscure agency or a committee or WH staffer. Who you know, who your daddy is and what your ideology is - the litmus test. That's what qualifies them. Examples of two genuinely unqualified "connected people" who fit the definition on the GOP side:

Ellen R. Sauerbrey - GOP 1994 and 1998 nominee for Governor of Maryland - now
Assistant Secretary of State (yes Dept of State), Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration who hasn't done a damn thing about one situation her boss created - the millions of Iraq refugees. What me worry? Refugees International was concerned about her lack of credentials and said she was nominated for the job based on "her opposition to abortion rights. It is her anti-abortion stance that appears to have attracted the administration"s attention, even though population programs comprise a small part of the Refugee Bureau"s work." Ideology & connections. Once a GOP nominee or relative of GOP nominee, you'll have a job forever.

Clarence Thomas - what qualifications or experience? Nominated by daddy Bush over how many hundreds of highly qualified minority judges? He doesn't even like the job - prefers to be driving his RV

And when the Clintons got in office, there were so many "connected" people wanting payback, do-nothing schedule C positions inside the federal government, that by the end of Bill's first term, they still HAD NOT found "positions" for all of their unqualified losers.

I read through these comments and see democrats and republicans bashing each other. I read comments from one party person indicting the other party for being "lap dogs", among other unfounded allegations, which are usually followed by an overblown misrepresentation of their own party. Don't you all realize that you are all the same. The political market has been cornered just like morality has been cornered by religion; and the majority believe it all based on a few anecdotes and emotion over a couple of issues. I rarely comment on any site but feel compelled to when I see fellow human beings degrading themselves by degrading others with false reason and logic. Someone, please, think for yourself.

Duh, big red bus!

I can remember another recent prez who was elected because a former prez was closely related. Geeze, I can't for the life of me remember how that one turned out.

Charlie Wilson's War, Bill Clinton's Presidency, a flaw here or there - but a successful campaign.

Watched Bill speaking to Dem voters in a school gym on C-SPAN -- a flawed human being, to be sure (just like me), but smarter than any ten people in the room -- as he held forth for 30 or 40 minutes on a broad range of campaign issues. No notes, not so much as a pause to gather his thoughts, speaking calmly and in clear sentences.

Yeah, I'll take Hillary getting her counsel from Bill ANY DAY... as opposed to Norman Podhoretz or some other death-dealing, right-wing, budget-busting ideologue.

Bill Clinton in the mix? Oh, the HORROR.

How quickly the fucking ingrates forget.

When are you Liberals that say bad thing about Hillary going to face the fact you will still vote for her. You are lap dogs to your dogma. You do not have any control over a Democrat in office. They tell you what you what to hear and you vote for them , then they do not do as they said they would do and the next time they are up YOU VOTE FOR THEM AGAIN.

Democrat leaders know this. They know you will never send a message to a Democrat and vote them out of office for not doing your bidding.

Democrat leader have successfully conned you moonbats into the same position the African Americans have been in since Democrats put them back on the plantation in the late sixties with promises of assistance. Did the Democrat leaders in Congress do anything you elected them to do? NO. Will you reelect them? YES.

You guys are such chumps. When our guys don"t do what we send them to do we vote them out of office the very next cycle. Ask Bush 1, Newt, DeLay¦.they all broke their promises and we voted them out.

Democrat leader have now put the whole Democrat population, not just the African Americans on the plantation. And you, keep reminding us are the Intellectual Elites, will continue to vote to keep yourselves on the plantation.

Hillary's campaign is running on an unspoken assumption. They keep on talking about how 'experienced' she is. But Obama, Edwards, and Clinton are ALL one term Sentators with no other elected office. Where comes this 'experience'? From being First Lady for eight years. The unspoken presumption from that was that she was and integral part of the running of the government during that time. I mean, is anybody going to state that Laura Bush is experienced in how to run the country?

The reason why this has to go unspoken is that it is what most riles conservatives about her. So they have to both push the angle but keep quiet about it.

I've noticed Huffington post has driven away supporters of Clinton - no matter how much bait is thrown their way to blog on her behalf. I guess the attacks have had the effect of silencing the Clinton supporters voice from being heard.

This trivia against Clinton is exhausting to read or bother to remark on.

There comes a point when it's not about Clinton, it's about the opportunity to verbally batter women in general. So unhealthy...

Edwards is the person to lead us out of Bush, Cheney and Corporate control destruction of our country.

The clintons are a team, no matter which one is wearing the beard. The idea that she was going to sweep the nomination (insert reason here) has stumbled because the people of Iowa have had a chance to see her up close, and they don't like her very much.
So bill is in there swinging for her and he is still formidable (liked) so she remains viable. In fact, if either Edwards or Obama were not running it wouldn't even be a race because she would get hardly any of their supporters.

A loss in Iowa would be the first domino to fall and force people to take a real look at her positions. It wont help her much when people realize she is essentially george bush in a skirt..

If Hillary doesn't win, who will be blamed for the loss? Will Hillary put the blame upon herself for the questionable votes and 35 years experience of burning bridges? Will Bill be at fault for repeatedly going off message and bogarting the limelight at every opportunity? Will TeamHillary take the fall for their empty slogans, eagerness to slime others, and their overconfidence in believing their own press clippings? It's doubtful that any of them would take responsibility. They don't have much experience doing that.
