MUSCATINE, Iowa -- Ralph Nader unleashed on Hillary Rodham Clinton Monday - criticizing her for being soft on defense spending and a chum of big business - and expressed his strong support for John Edwards.

In an 11th hour effort to encourage liberal Iowans to "recognize" Edwards by "giving him a victory," the activist and former presidential contender said in an interview that Clinton will "pander to corporate interest groups" if elected.

Nader specifically accused Clinton of failing to challenge military spending because "she is a woman who doesn't want to be labeled as soft on defense and she doesn't want to be shown as taking on big business."

To all the snot-faced little trick, hack, troglodyte children here talking sh|t about Ralph Nader, get a fvkcing clue. Seriously. You sound like little school girls, whining about some nonsensicle hallucination. Yes, the way it played out is unfortunate. But god-forbid someone should vote their conscience. God-forbid. God-forbid someone should rightly note that the democratic party and DLC are corrupted and act on that by not granting them their vote. You fascist little whores tweak me. To blame and direct your vitriol at an honest, upright, independent man of integrity instead of the insipid vultures who are the ones trashing this country?!?! Nonsense. You are full if sh|t and nonsense. Grow the f up.

Naderites: Your god has spoken and you must obey. Edwards should win the nomination easily now with your lords blessing. Of course it's just as likely to sink him Titantic style. Good luck John.

The way the anti-Nader faction on this post sounds, it appears there should be no third party candidates because they might cost the two main parties some votes. I can't believe so many people have been duped into believing the Nader cost Gore Florida argument.

For all you commentators attacking and smearing Ralph Nader, please stop acting like parrots and look at facual information concerning the 2000 election!
1. Gore lost his home state of Tennessee and its 11 electoral votes. If he had won, the electoral college vote would have been:
Gore 277 Bush 260 Needed to win 270
It is extremely rare that a candidate loses his home state!
2. Gore's poor performance at the presidential debates. He came across as an arrogant ass.
3. Finally, his inept staff of advisers resulted in a poorly run campaign.
You should find out about a person before you attack and smear out of ignorance. I suggest that you view "An Unreasonable Man" on PBS or read some of his books to understand how important this man is to this country and even to fools as yourselves!
We would be a better country if we had a strong 3rd and/or 4th party.

This thread is fascinating reading on this new years day. I guess its been a while since I saw a "Nader" thread on the HuffPo. It comes back to me clearly why I left the Democratic party. The Nader haters are like the people who still believe that Iraq was responsible for 9/11. Willfully ignorant.

It would be interesting to know what percentage of registered Democrats still hold Nader responsible for their defeat in 2000. This would be one way to know how many idiots are in the party.

I note that some on the thread are defending Nader. I just don't have the heart for it any more. Ignorance can be changed but stupid is for ever.

It's pretty much impossible to respond to all the Nader haters on this site. There seems to be no end to stupidity. Let me suggest this: grab a rope, find a tree and show us all what great Americans you are.

Bill Clinton probably owes his presidency to third-party candidate Ross Perot who siphoned off votes from George H.W. Bush.

43% Clinton
37% Bush
19% Perot

Get over it, get educated and stop blaming Ralph Nader for Gore's loss. Those of you who denigrate Nader now are probably the same people who bemoan corporate influence in our government and recognize the ill-effects this influence has on legislation and the political process. Nader has fought against this out-of-control unrelenting corporate influence his whole career. Ralph Nader has been fighting for you, Joe Citizen, his whole life!
The vote in Florida, 2000: The vote spread in Florida in 2000 was 537 votes. If you're going to pass blame, you might as well pass it to the rest of the independents too...there are seven more listed below who you could easily blame. Or are you of the mind that only those with big money who run under the banner of democrat or republican are allowed to run for President? Nah, more likely, I bet you Nader haters moan about the two-party system too.
Buchanan has admitted that the votes he got in Florida were meant for Gore and were due to the infamous butterfly ballot. That right there, in my mind, makes for a fraudulent election, one that Gore would have WON if not for this very occurrence....Nader or not!
And were is your blame for the Supreme Court decision that put Bush in office?
Other Florida independents...
Buchanan, Pat REF – 17,484 votes
Browne, Harry LBF – 16,415
Hagelin, John NLF – 2,281
Moorehead, Monica WW – 1,804
Phillips, Howard CPF – 1,371
McReynolds, David SFL – 622
Harris, James FSW - 562
Edwards had already grabbed my attention this past week, and Nader's endorsement now forces me to take a closer, more serious look.

I never thought I would see the day when Edwards supporters would so readily embrace a Skunk.

Notice how NONE of our resident rightwing trollz have anything negative to say about Ralphie Boy? It's because they KNOW he did them a HUGE favor in 2000. Take a scroll through the thread; they are strangely absent. Wonder why that is?

If Al Gore had wanted to win the election, he should have run a better campaign.

In 2000, EVERY third-party candidate on the ballot in Florida, received as many votes as Gore lost to Bush.

So it is ridiculous to assert that of the total votes cast for a third-party candidate, only Nader votes cost Al Gore the election.

Note: I actively supported and voted for Al Gore.
